Grinder doesnt yield kief anymore?

    Unfortunately I'm on my iPhone and can't figure out how to include pictures. After I post this, I'll go back and try again, but for the mean time, I'll jist provide a very detailed description.

    Okay, I own a 2.5 inch chromium crusher. When I first got it, I got kief easily. And had enough to top a bowl every 3-4 days depending on how much I smoke.

    I keep a nickel in my grinder as well, not that it's helping. I've had the grinder since the end of summer. (end of July) it is now late October and my grinder yields very little to no kief. I've tried rinsing it with water and using the scraper provided to try and scrape the screen in case it's clogged. But it looks clean and clear. Which confuses me because after the humid weather of summer, it makes complete sense that it would get clogged, but it doesn't look clogged what so ever.

    I've never cleaned it other than rinsing the whole thing with water and scraping the screen.



    I was wondering if anyone knows a quick fix or just anyway to fix the problem.

    Try using a small unused paint brush. If you cut it short the brush hairs should be rigid enough to knock cached up kief from the screen. Also I've found some buds yield more kief than others.

    paint brush idea is smart, I'll definitely try it. And I understand that, but I buy mainly from one person, who only buys one no name strain, and I stopped getting kief one day, whereas when I first got it, the same strain produced a good amount of kief. And since then I've picked up from other people and no difference. I considered that

    Then buy a $15 aluminum or a $5 dollar plastic.

    Buy danker weed with more crystalline look to it, hold it up to a light and its easy to see. This bud should yield more kief. If this doesnt work maybe cop a new grinder.

    Clean the screen with a Q-Tip and isopropyl alcohol. Both sides, top and bottom.
     
    Even better, soak that section of your grinder in iso, then rinse it off in hot water and let it dry.

    I have no idea is you air dry it.
     
    I usually use a hair dryer on mine after I'm done cleaning it. Evaps very fast that way.

    put grinder in pieces in a ziplock, add iso, shake for a minute, rinse with hot water and dry with paper towel... itll be 100% dry in like  10 min

    Can you answer this question. What's not yielding the keif the grinder or the dealer. Some dealers are douches and separate the keif for themselves

    As for the grinder I can tell you this I barely make enough money for weed but I bought a decent grinder... if you're a stoner your grinder better be deicent or it not a stoner that's my take on it

    backwards logic imo hah I know a lot of "high class" stoners who prefer not to grind because it damages the trichomes and burns a little harsher due to the fine weed.

    Edit: fyi I love my santa cruz shredder not hating on grinders!

    My $5 grinder has 4 chambers and is a kief BANK. $40? for a grinder? You're insane... go to amazon..

    and run iso through it and you'll get kief again.

    or buy my $5 grinder off amazon

    as I said, it's the grinder. I've picked up the exact same strain from the same person and over time I've started to get less and less kief until I don't get any.

    a $5 grinder isn't good quality. The teeth are glued on, the screens are flimsy, they usually come in one size, get clogged up a lot, etc. just because it has 4 chambers and you get kief from it, doesn't make it a super great grinder. Besides, $40 isn't a lot of money when you work 2 jobs.

    none of those qualities exist with my grinder. I'm not here to make an argument or prove a point with grinder quality... I'm just saying $40 Is overkill for a grinder.

    Maybe you shake damn hard to collect kief and now the screen is dented and the threads have moved closer together thus kief not being able to pass through. That's my main guess. Maybe the water isn't rinsing everything through and it's become sticky?
