I am an organic farmer living in rural Maine, and Beekeeper, our farm is on solar-power. We just finished weeks and weeks of continuous torrential rains and flooding. I germinated my seeds in March, timed for them to be hardening off in mid-May, to go into the ground the first week of June. and the next week the rain started. My plants are outside and in the ground, but that field has been standing water for two months. My 2022 harvest was a failure [too much mold]. My 2021 harvest was great I produced around 6 pounds.
welcome mate, how tall are your plants? if you just transplanted you may be able to just dig plants up and put in nursery pot . i figure if you have a 4ft tall plant one third of the plant is roots . so im thinking 1.5 maybe of root zone . could be a bit more with all the rain , so dig back a little more , bring whole plant out as a huge ball and just drop into at least a 15 gal , might not be what you wanted, but still get you blasted
That is a good thought. I still have two pounds left over from previous harvests, so I was not really sweating this harvest.
Welcome to GC @ForestBeeKeeper . I'm in upstate NY and we have been getting lots of heavy rain too. It looks like we may be drying out in the next few days.
