Greetings, Rumpleforeskin - DWC for our second grow!

  1. Greetings Rumpleforeskin (and all other DWC users) from Colorado! My partner and I are working together for our first medical grow. We are a couple of old farts with various bad body parts that enable us to now grow our own meds legally for the first time! Our first grow was started before I found your postings here regarding DWC. I have built 3 bubblers per your design (found black buckets for the second and third) and am looking forward to trying them on our second grow (first is soil, 3 in regular pots, 3 in smart pots). I have several questions: 1)What is the optimum water temperature for the bubblers? Our grow area is not heated, so once the lights go off temperature management involves heating, not cooling. Should the temps stay in the 65-75 degree range? 2)How fast do you have to be when changing nutrient solution? I was planning on draining, then refilling from a five gallon bucket containing pre-made nutrient solution. With three buckets, I figured I could rotate through the 3 buckets over a 3-day cycle (we are fortunate in having really good tap water here - let it sit 24 hrs and it's like you bought bottled water). 3)What ppm reading indicates that it is time to change nutrients? Any help would be appreciated as we will be hydroponic noobs. If we do well with our first DWC experiment we look forward to growing our allotted 6 plants in flower all in DWC (building those buckets was fun!). I am currently working on a DWC veg. tub that will handle 6-6"mesh pots for the 4 week veg. period but take less space than 6 buckets. Your level indicator, infill, and drain valve design with my tub selection :smoking:
    Thanks All!
