Greenhouse and Tent

  1. Hi all,

First time grower here, just putting a thought out there. Would a grow tent work inside a greenhouse ? Or is it strictly one or the other. Only reason im asking is because im short on space in the house and i have a mix of auto's and photoperiod seeds i want to get going.

SO ill have the autos in the green house and the photoperiods in the grow tent.

  2. I don't see why not , if you size it correctly , and no light leaks in the tent if you plan on going dark period in the tent and running lights or sun

  3. Yeah...if you can keep the conditions within a decent range of where they should be.....i don't see why not.:passing-joint:

  4. There really is no wrong way. We all configure our grow to our space and budget and general abilities.
Mostly if it get it done it all good in my book.
My grow is one of the simplest in soil and ferts but way off the charts when it comes to the rest of it.
Living where were have a very mild winter and lax laws I can flower outside 4 times every year.
This year is the most odd in recent years as I'm vegging outside in winter not far from where I have plants in flower.
Being gone for a week or 2 at a time has really put a crimp in how I usually work but it's getting done despite my absence.

  5. Hi all scrapped it for now, the Aussie summer is too hot for the greenhouse as it is, let alone tying to keep the tent conditions cool aswell. I think this will be a winter project

  6. This sounds like a good idea for the aussie winter but your spring summer and autumn will be very hot anyway so you can grow in the greenhouse through those seasons I don't think it would be too hot to grow in the summer as long as you make sure the greenhouse is fully open day and night in the peak of the summer. The plants would need watering more in the heat or you could get a large pvc foldable greenhouse so in the peak of the summer you can just take the plastic cover off to expose the plants to the sun but keep them fresh this way you would have 3 options the tent in the greenhouse just the greenhouse or the greenhouse completely off.

  7. the temps here at the moment are mid 30s and humid, temps over the last few days in the greenhouse have been mid 40s. Ill be getting another fan this week to circulate the air in the g/h hopefully that brings the temps down a bit more so the plants arent getting too hot. Been putting the plants inside the g/h at around 4pm through till 7am then keeping them outside wiith shade cloth over them.

All in all seem to be doing great, with what im doing. The winter though ill defo be setting a tent up inside the g/h.

  8. Wow lol what are the aussie winters like I expect not very cold at all?

  9. g
gets cold in winter low as 9 or 10 where i am

  10. The only thing that would worry me is the humidity of a warm greenhouse condensing on the cool plastic insides of a dark grow tent and potentially mildewing your buds. But if you can keep it dry in the tent, should be fine.

  11. Oh yeah deffo have a tent in winter. I'm from england so I don't know lol

  12. his tents obviously gonna pull air outside the in the tent and push air outside the greenhouse so I don't see a problem.

Also op don't leave the windows or door open on the greenhouse when the tent is setup inside incase the rain comes in and blows the electrics. If you need to have a window open for the intake and out take pipe make sure you tape a bin liner over it letting the pipes pass through.

  13. Pulling warm humid air through a cooler, darker space before you vent it will turn that space into a condenser. That's just physics.

  14. You're clearly not picking up what I'm putting down, but that doesn't mean you're not wrong.

  15. Na I do get what you mean hopefully he doesn't do that and does it straight through

  16. Where the air is exhausted would make little difference. Pulling warm air through a cool space causes condensation. A dark grow tent in a bright greenhouse is going to be slightly cooler than the greenhouse in general, because it's dark.
    This isn't really hard.

  17. I bet I could pull this off myself just to prove there wouldn't be a problem to affect the bud. The air coming from outside into the tent won't be hot and humid because its winter and he said the air outside is 9 or 10 Celsius also true it doesn't matter if there wasn't an exhaust at all along as there is a pipe pulling into the tent from the outside. Make sure the pipe is not pointing at the sky because again rain could get in.

  18. Surely, what good is science when you've got your feelings?
