Green trichombes??????

  1. Ok I have 7 Vintage mix from HGS. On two of them that are getting close I started checking trich's. Well it the wierdest thing is that the shaft of the trichs are green.

I mean Green green. The tops are cloudy and clear but the shafts are green??

    Anyone ever seen this before?

  2. Bump..... I'm serious green trich's. 16 views and nobody has any clue??? I'm not sure I should even smoke the shit/ LOL

  3. Most likely is just genetics or it just looks green because of the greeness of the plant, ya know reflection or somesort, just a wild guess

  4. The stems are probably clear and you're seeing the color of the leaf behind it.

  5. No . It's not reflection or color of the leaf. I checked the others of the same strain and they have normal color. My White Widow looks normal and so are the super buds. These stems are green. No reflection or anything else. Iv'e checked them in different rooms and different light. No change at all.

They are green trichomb stems.?????? Bright green almost flouresent.

  6. No clue man, i wouldnt worry about it unless your plant starts to wilt or w/e, but if it dont then maybe its somethin it evolved or its just a non dominant trait from an old variety and all that, so many diff conclusions.

  7. I havnt heard of this before, nor seen it, however upon a google search it looks like, a blue ish green can happen as the trichomes serve many purposes.

  8. looked at post earlier & was clueless
looked at posts now & still clueless:eek:
still clueless but thinlk its what your looking for bud:)
    QUOTE;
Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) synthase is the enzyme responsible for the production of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of marijuana (Cannabis sativa L.). We suggest herein that THCA is biosynthesized in the storage cavity of the glandular trichomes based on the following observations. (i) The exclusive expression of THCA synthase was confirmed in the secretory cells of glandular trichomes by reverse transcription–PCR (RT–PCR) analysis. (ii) THCA synthase activity was detected in the storage cavity content. (iii) Transgenic tobacco expressing THCA synthase fused to green fluorescent protein showed fluorescence in the trichome head corresponding to the storage cavity. These results also showed that secretory cells of the glandular trichomes secrete not only metabolites but also biosynthetic enzyme.

ps; if you work it out tell me,thanks, lol:D:wave:

  9. But the trichome head is cloudy? It's the stem or " corresponding storage cavity" that's green.

Man that was cool. I read it a couple of times and I'm still clueless.:smoking:

    Is that you Highgrade?

  10. The heads will probably change as they absorb w/e it is they absorb

  11. Hey man I don't ever remember ever seeing that. Providing you are indeed looking at the correct thing I would be a bit worried about things like fungus or mold of some kind.

  12. That was my worry as well. I'm going to post a question to highgrade himself.

I'm very sure I'm looking at the right thing. I'm going to check all the vintages today even the ones that are not close to being done yet.

What can I get to take a pic of the trich's? Any equipment out there? I have some cash.

Thanks for the help guys. If I get a pic i'll post it or if Highgrade answers me I'll let you all know.

  13. Well theres a toy called eye clopse that magnifies 40x that you plug into your tv at least they have it here, but go to hightimes.com and they have a telescope specifically for looking at trichs and such

  14. Fuck it....smoke that shit! LOL!

  15. yeah, i wanna get an eye clops!! i've taken a mag. glass and used it as a macro lens for my camera, works pretty good.

  16. I'll try and get a pic with my magna glass.

  17. no mate but my herb is:D
