hey everyone im 3 weeks into my first grow i started with some good ass bagseed and got the idea i actually started with no knowldge on how to grow pot but hey it turned out way better than expected. tell me if i did stuff right. 2 weeks of 24/0 1 week of 18/6 and im on my first day of 12/12 today the only problem i ran into was i overwatered for a couple of days by accident and unfortunately didnt catch it quick enough in one of my plants so i had to trim off the bottom leaves but my grow room has an induction and exhaust fan. 6 CFL lights(2 daylight spectrum and 4 soft lights) but they all equal to be about 650 watts for 3 plants. i just soil transplanted them out of party cups a couple days ago and they are pretty big right now about 6-8". i have one of those 4-1 meters(fertility,light,water,and ph) but yeah i was excited when i opened the door this morning and i felt the need to share with the good people of grasscity lmao. ill put pics up after christmas.
Sounds like a good start, but pics will help us see if you are having other problems like light stretching, nute burn, pH whack, etc. I seriously doubt you have 650 actual watts with 6 CFLs, more likely you are looking at the equivalent watts which you should completely ignore. The bulbs or packages should show actual watts, which is probably about 1/4 of the "equivalent" watts. The "equivalent" watts is simply a marketing gimmick to help consumers understand how much light the bulb will give off compared to a household incandescent bulb. Assuming your bulbs are in the range of 25w actual apiece, you should try to get more like 3-4 bulbs per plant. And keep the bulbs within 2" of the plant, their light output drops off sharply with distance. You probably want to invest in a better pH meter as well.
yeah that is the equivalent wattage actual wattage is like 252 but they are within 2'' of the plant.on a further note one did strech a bit but the other two are nice short green and bountiful with leaves. thanks for the comment pics will be posted soon
i spoke too soon go figure i wake up good ol christmas morning after a horrible night where my lil sis got put in the hospital and to make matters worse i think my plant are starting to get nute burn but you tell me. they all sprouted at same time they are all 3 weeks of veg. and they are on 3rd day of 12/12 shortest to tallest(gloria,delila,leah) delilah is by far doing the worst right now she's has brown spots starting at her tips moving there way up the leaves and i usually trim them after they die. the yellow spots on leah leaves the just came up in the last 24 hours please i need help on how to save my babies!
please someone help me! should i go back to re-vegging or keep the 12/12 whats going on with my babies please help!
Nute burn, over/under water and way to early to put your girls to bloom. It looks to me like your going to need to flush to get the nutes out or I would just transplant into fert free soil. Switching your cycle again so soon will stress your plants and could make them male or hermie. Not saying it would happen, just the stress is high and the plants need immediate attention.
i just did transplant them into nutrient free soil but they were severely underwatered because i was afraid of overwatering but im not used to having them in bigger pots yet and i decided to go 12/12 so early because im going 3 weeks veg 10 weeks flowering ive talked to some people and im hoping it will work thanks for the help
okay so plants are startin to perk up quite a bit already. and the problem was severe underwatering ,the nute burn is minute. i did a lot of research before i started my first indoor grow and read a lot of good things about letting veg for 3 weeks and letting bloom for 3-4 months. but since this is my first grow im cool with just taking this for a learning experience. i was soo afraid of overwatering my plants that i started to starve them of everything they needed(only top 1 inch of soil was damp). so i thank you all for your help and ill update new pics on how my babies are doin
just to clarify, i believe most growers let their babies veg for about 2 months, then let them flower for about 1-2 months. It really shouldn't hurt the plants to start them flowering early, other than your yield being around 2 grams per plant =P
lol i know and like i said it is my first grow soo i got a good experience on learning also even if i only get an 1 ounce or 2 off of all my plants combined ill be happy considering its my first grow and im only doin this for my personal stash
alright guys thanks for the tips i had to search on how to flush the nute burn is still there but very small and i had a lot more growth now that they have water. i can't believe how easy it was for them to grow once they had some good ol distilled water but they recovered fine i fimmed one plant and topped another and im just letting one grow without touchin it. so heres some pics 24 hours after the destruction and starvation of my babies! thanks everyone for the help. also here are some pics of my grow room!
ive got 2 150w MH lights but is there like a warm up time on em or something because it says they're for standard sockets but they wont light up? and they are brand new!
its a possibility but i actually took these from my workplace and they even say on the box standard sockets. we do have the 250w ones for ballast but also im trying to keep my electric bill down as well ya know(they were trash
well put it this way im the 2nd in chain of command and we were throwing a whole truck load worth of shit away and as im cleaning out one of the drawers i see about 20 fucking 100w and 200w MH lights and the only person higher than me was like oh yeah we dont use those anymore. so after she left i took 2 of a box full of unopened ones home to try them out and go figure i cant get em to work. so when i mean borrow don't think i stole them(although i did make it said like that my apologies i was "relaxing" at the time) they were going to get thrown out so i took them
hey also i noticed these on all of my plants and i dont think its pistils but...well. you guys give me your input on these just they look like tiny lil needles coming out of the stem?
