Green Mold

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by musuron, Mar 18, 2007.

  1. So I have a little herb garden growing alongside my bud. While my plants were still in peat pellets, a few of them grew a very dark green mold. When I transplanted them, I cut the moldy areas off and buried it. But the mold grew through the soil.

Anyone know what kind it is, or what I can do about it?

  2. haha you buried it? shit I would have suggested disposing of mold!

I'm not sure what kind it is

  3. I cut off all of the mold that I could see-- then buried the pellet deeper than normal in case there were any spores left-- which there were aparrently (it worked on all but 2 of my plants)

  4. Take out the plant and clean off any mold then put it in fresh soil. Did you re-use soil for this grow?

  5. No, it was fresh sterilized soil. I thought I had cleaned all of the mold off the last time though.

Is there anything organic that kills mold?

  6. hmm the safest thing i can think of is a little bit of vinegar but i dont know what that would do to the plant and i wouldnt try it. cleaning and repotting should work though.
