Green mold on top of my rockwool cubes?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by BiggFunkNugg, Aug 22, 2007.

  1. My hydro plants are a few weeks old and I have noticed a green substance forming on top each of the rockwool cubes which don't get fully submerged by water. I am assuming it is a mold. What is causing this? Is this normal? How can it be removed? How can it be prevented? Thanks in advance dudes!

  2. you can cut the rock wool and let it grow more onto the hydroton...

  3. light+exposed wet rockwool = definite mold. atleast thats what i've alawys been told. so bury your rockwool asap, don't let light get to it. you could probably nipp off the moldy parts? im not sure
