  1. Hey Peeps,
New gardener here. First grow. Currently, I am at the beginning of week 5 of the flowering stage. I recently upgraded my grow area and am trying to dial in the room for optimal results. I understand that every plant has different needs, but im trying to create a baseline by which i can adjust in the future. I will try to include all the information I can on my situation. Current setup:

    AC Infinity 4x4 tent
Sun System RS 1850 750w LED w/ gavita controller
    8in fan
    CO2 Bags
    nutrients general hydroponics bloom

Its a modest setup at the moment and i plan on adding better HVAC system, but finacially its gonna take some time.

I have the light set about 20in above the canopy at the moment and I'm running it at about 55% power. The temperature goes above ideal (80 degress is where im trying to stay) when I push it to 60% or higher. How can I maximize this new LED with this miminal amount of gear? Can I raise the light and turn up the power, or do I push the temp and see how much the plants can endure? Welcome to all critizisms and suggestions. Thanks for your time.

  2. I'm a total noob as well, but would dimming to maybe 25% and lowering the light help with the heat?

  3. This light operates ar 50% and above. I can't go any lower.

  4. Well, then I'm out of suggestions, hopefully someone else can help

  5. I appreciate the reply. This stuff is fascinating to me and needless to say I caught the bug. lol

  6. I'm right there with you!

  7. get some fans in there you need airflow blow one directly up at the light it helps with the temp then try to get these to harvest and research how to train plants to grow bigger and bushier seems like you took lolipop to the extreme when you didnt need to with that setup lol airflow is the key i have 6 fans going 24/7

  8. Yeah, it's my first attempt and the guy I got the clones from said to go nutz, and really didn't give me much more info than that. I did go over board on the lollipoping. live and learn :) Since then I've done a ton more research. The 3 clones I extracted from the one on the right will be much different, as I now know where I went wrong. The one on the left was wierd the whole time, she didnt even produce a 5 finger leaf until right before I switched them.

  9. Is that 8" fan an exhaust fan? Does it have a speed controller? It should do the trick if setup correct. Exhaust hot air out the top and have a passive intake at the bottom. The rooms temperature usually gets dialed in with the fans speed. Turn it up to get more cool air flowing in.

HVAC is cheap af if you want. The only thing that costs anything is the fan and it sounds like you've already got a good one. All you need is cardboard boxes, scissors and tape. You can make any shape of ducting you want.

Like sosogrow said, have multiple fans. 1 specifically for exhausting hot air and 1 or more for circulating air within the room.

You've got a really nice setup there. Your next grow should be a banger. I wouldn't bother with co2 bags. They're only useful when you have everything dialed in 100% and you have a sealed room.

Thanks for all the useful info. That makes sense. I just have a basic sunbeam, 3 speed fan that I pointed from the bottom of the tent up to the exhaust port in the top. Yes, I'm excited about the second grow, and planning a 3rd that im going to start from seed. The clones are looking good, I'm just about to give them a second topping.

  13. I've topped them once now and am planning a second one as they started to stretch this last week. They are growing mostly wide, not vertical.
