Fuck you, Stairway was the first song I learned on guitar when I was 11 lol http://youtu.be/jtN8oBjMr_E
Stairway of course most powerful sound in modern music, with all the elements for uplifting and brightening of the psyche, nearly alchemical
Zeppelin was amazing but they are far from the most powerful modern music. Ever heard of Power Metal? That magical music is the most powerful. 🎶High above at the edge of the world, we are searching for glory and peace, when the time has come, you will see our return to the land of the free!🎶
I only meant by my personal tastes. I'm sure you all could all show me better music, I just am a bit of a romantic toward certain songs, and this one sounds cool. A bunch of weird rambling throughout, but that kind of thing is great sometime. what power metal albums dies zepplin(sp?) have? I want to check some out this morning
Dazed and Confused, Whole Lotta Love, Rock N Roll, Black Dog, blah blah blah those are the obvious ones. heres a few of my favorite other than those. Song Remains the Same You Shook Me Battle of Evermore When the Levee Breaks Down by the Seaside Ten Years Gone and my all time favorite, Achilles Last Stand.
why even bother? every single one is absolutely amazing can this just be an Appreciation Thread? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPwj9akkGRo
I understand, I love love Zeppelin too Zeppelin doesn't have any Power Metal albums haha but they definitely were an influence on the genre. 🎶High above at the edge of the world, we are searching for glory and peace, when the time has come, you will see our return to the land of the free!🎶
Easily Achilles Last Stand This guy knows whats up. Achilles Last Stand as number one followed by all of those. With You Shook Me replaced with Gallows Pole as the only substitution. Gooood list,
Achilles Last Stand would take the cake for me! Other candidates would be; When The Levee Breaks Communication Breakdown Nobody's Fault But Mine Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Battle Of Evermore Since we're on the subject of Zeppelin tracks, 'Tangerine' is another song that is seemingly unknown but great. 'In The Evening' is another one of my favorites.
I'm so glad someone else posted this instead of the general hits that everyone knows. Ozric, marry me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6S9oqJRclo
Heyy Verts. Hahaha we are always running into common interests. *kneels on one knee* I got no ring. This was unexpected. But uhh, will you marry me?
The question was "Greatest Led Zeppelin song" not "Favourite Led Zeppelin song" The obvious answer is Stairway to Heaven. However, my favourite would definitely be this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zb55HHLoB70
Good distinction 'and' good favorite. I'm of the opinion that Stairway is of course the greatest in terms of its impact on rock n roll. Its overplayed but never overrated. Also it is not similar enough to Taurus by Spirit to suggest it was stolen. That type of chord progression is found in so many songs. The Thin Ice by Floyd.. Octupuses Garden.. As much controversy as Zeppelin has got - Stairway is uniquely theirs.
There live stuff is way more badass than the studio stuff. The DVD with the desert on it is badass. The versions of whole lotta love and dazed and confused are super badass and they have a jam called "how many more times " on there and its pretty BA. Zeppelin is by far the greatest jam band ever, well let me qualify that with the greatest "rock and roll" jam band. Frank Zappa's bands all jam harder but they are more like fusion than rock
