NONE OF THE ABOVE! (not to discredit any of the above mentioned groups) BUT, the greates "HIPPIE" musical experience in my opinion is PHISH!!!!!!!!!!!! Whether you are a fan or not, the outdoor festivals are the greatest! The people you will meet, the drugs you can easily get, and the MUSIC! And, Trey Anastasio can play like a motherfucker!!!!!!!!
Phish is the greatest band, period. there never has been and there never will be another band like phish. i can honestly say that phish is responsible for who i am today. they changed my life. after i listen to phish, i am in a temporary state of bliss. nothing else can make me feel that way. no other band and no drug gives me that feeling. the peak of their jams (phish fans know what im talking about) is just my favorite thing in the world. that feeling is just awesome. its like it forces a smile on your face, just covers your body in goosebumps, and just locks all your focus on the music. every member of the band is awesome on their instrument. Trey is just a flatout amazing guitarist. i dont care what people say about him, he is by far my favorite musician ever! then theres Mike. damn, he drops bombs. thumpin away on bass, and just bringin the white boy funk at all times. and fishman! people say hes not a great drummer and shit, but he has some awesome fills. and just look at him on stage hes just chillin and makes it look so fucking easy! the playing between him and trey is what makes phish. page brings the much needed class to this band. he brings the jazzy feel to it and has his own sometimes off-beat style of playin, kind of like thelonious monk. dont be fooled though, Page can bring that funk hard! sorry, i kind of went off on this, but i just love this band and they will always have a special place in my heart. i know that sounds kind of gay, but its true.
Trey Anistasio ( i think thats wrong but what ever) freaks the hells out of me, amazing guitarist, but he is so firey and pazzzam!
Dylan kicks ass, The Stones Gotta love em' Airplane kickass, zeppelin love the shit, floyd, rock on man, phish killer dank shit. GRATEFUL DEAD BEAT ALL... RIP GARCIA...
Yea Grateful Dead is the bomb, I grew up on that shit, my dads the biggest dead head ever, and none of the bands you listedwere big HIPPIE bands
you have no idea what your talking about man. the only band on there that wasnt really a "hippie band" would be The Who. they were what the jocks listened to back in the 70s
i like a lot of them (allman bros, who, steppenwolf, doors, airplane, dylan..etc) but phish is just flat out amazing. Trey is such a great guitarist. i just absolutely love just sitting back and listening to them, now more than ever. like half the songs on my most played are phish. listening to the live songs makes me want to go see them so badly
ill have to agree with u on that one the grateful dead was the and will always be the greatest hippy band on the planet. they were hippies when playing on stage, off stage and even when jarry garcia died he will be a hippy in heaven!!! i also like bob marley and the wailers. they are pretty good.
No to be a dick head but for future refenece The Grateful Dead is how you spell it no "greatful dead" I've grown up on that band so its actually quite aggravating. So theres my rant peace
Um, yeah, why aren't the Dead on there? If I had to make a choice out of all of the ones listed I would have to pick the Allman Brothers.
hmm, out ofthat list, yes, allman brothers...but id probably rather go to a dead show...ive been listening to the dead ever since i saw half baked.....i was so curious who jerry garcia was haha ruggles, wanna go see the allman bros...theyre comming...i might get ticks if not too much
Phish definetely takes #1 in my mind... followed closely by Grateful Dead... I couldnt think of a better song ever created than Estimated Prophet
all of the bands are good. i voted for the allman brothers. i love them and i can't wait to go see them on august 23rd
