Great cheap grinder

  1. Grasscity has this grinder on sale for $1.99. I purchased 4 of these for gifts. I purchased a 5th one to try out that I will keep in my woodworking shop. It works great for an entry level grinder and promotes this wonderful site.

  2. Can't beat that price. I've found that very good grinders can be had for $20 or so. The grinding teeth are going to wear no matter how expensive the grinder is. Might as well just spend the $20 every 6 months to pick up a fresh one.

  3. My main grinder is a KOZO. These just make nice gifts and help promote the site. 20230928_231728.jpg

  5. Vee, I've been using that KOZO for about three years straight daily and the anodize green color is still on the teeth so I see zero visible wear. I'm not sure why folks think the teeth wear? Keeping the grinder clean makes grinding effortless and gives us a uniform grind.

  6. Agreed. My SpaceCase is like 5 years old. A quick soak in alcohol and you couldnt tell it apart from a brand new one.

  7. 1st cleaning of my Kozo in 3 years! I forgot what color it was. @ 24 hr soak in etoh (alcohol) then a coupla hrs scraping/picking with a dental probe, then a final etoh soak & toothbrush to finish. Removed about an 1/8th of what looked like blonde hash. That was 1 sticky brown mess, now like new. I don't believe those teeth will wear appreciably in your lifetime. If it does break out the jaws of life for your wallet. ;)

  8. I bought a six pack of cheaper grinders from GC years ago and gave them to my poker buddies. Was a big hit. This was before grinders were really common like now.

  9. Why the hell did I never think of soaking mine in alcohol? I've never had a problem keeping the inside clean, it's where the top meets the grinder that you get build up and makes it hard to turn. (Arthritis hands here) I usually get tired of trying to scrape it all off and just buy a new one. Alcohol would work wonders. I've cleaned the kief screens with alcohol but never thought of soaking the pieces. Damn.

  10. Carpal tunnel hands here. Alcohol cleans em up good as new; sometimes i give a very light scrub with a tooth brush to speed it up. Can reuse the alcohol later for banking or tincture or whatever if you really want to. either way, beats tossing them in the trash. Might give you some confidence to invest in a space case or other similar high end grinder. A good grinder that is kept clean is almost effortless to use.

  11. I paid like 15 bucks for my chromium crusher that lasted me years and I was quite happy with it. When it finally broke (threads got all fucked up) I replaced it with a Santa Cruz shredder which has through and through been a worthy upgrade for a more experienced stoner.

Nothing wrong with a cheap grinder, but I think you really can get a better experience if you go up the food chain a bit.

  12. I prefer a handle or something on the grinder. My darth vader grinder is still around. I use iso to clean it, but I lightly oil (cooking oil) it afterwards. Spins beautifully.
There's some electric grinders made for grinding cannabis; whether or not they work, idk.

  13. My wife bought a batter operated grinder that she really likes. Two quick button pushes does the trick, don't want a fine powder.
