  1. Ive been wanting to read a good book lately. So what are some good books to read? Any type of books by the way.

  2. War of the Rats by David L. Robbins. Probably the most facinating/interesting/entertaining book i've ever read. First read it when i was 15, and i finnished the 500 some paged book in 5 days, hah, i read that thing non stop. I've read it about 2 times since then. It'll never get old...

Have you ever seen the movie Enemy at the Gates? It's based on the russian snipers durring world war 2 between russia and germany in stalingrad. That movie was based on War of the Rats. But the movie is nowhere NEAR, not even CLOSE, to being as good as the book... Just so much more stuff and.. ah man, just get the book and read it, haha..

  3. The Fountainhead is one of my alltime favorite reads and I can't count how many times I've read it. (It's for all of us dreamers out there). Another good one is I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb.

  4. Lord of the rings trilogy suffices me. and the hobbit is also good

  5. George Orwells 1984 It was written back in like 1940 something about how 1984 will be.... Its about a world were commusism won the cold war pretty much.... If you ever heard the term Big brother is watching you.... it came from this book. It hard to read in some parts cuz it was written by a George Orwell whos Britsh but its understandable.

  6. read a lil kafka.... its good, makes you think to interperate, all the ideas not presented directly in the reading....

everyone has there own interprations and meanings so its great...

alot of existentialism is good..... as long as you don't take most of it to heart.

  7. Thanks for the relpys! I want to read all these books now...I just hope i can find them.

  8. any of Sartre's books are GREAT reads, but as gravy said, don't change your way of thinking to suit this stuff.

also, John Updike, Joseph Heller, and Kurt Vonnegut jrwere all great novelists, Noam Chomsky and Mumia Abu-Jamal have great political stances, and Sylvia Plath and Charles Bukowski wrote great poetry.

  9. If you read fantasy type books, Read Raymond E. Fiest's Riftwar Saga, IMO, It ranks one step down from the lord of the rings trilogy

  10. Helter Skelter, The True Story of the Manson Murders
    by Vincent Bugliosi.

a very good book indeed, it makes u look at the way things went down in a whole different perspective.

  11. I love that book................it is the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. any book about theoretical science, such as universe creation, or multi dimensional space (now THATS a fuckin trip).......

    :D

  13. read holotrophic mind by grov. it some wack shit about the levels of consciousness that exist within the human physche

  14. A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking.

Great book, a little confusing. Not for when you're high ;) It can make your head hurt.

  15. I guess not many of you like Tom Clancy. He is my favorite.

  16. 1984 is a good book
Timeline by Michael Chriton is one of my favorites. It has a little bit of quantum mechanics and stuff in it.
Cryptonomicon is another good book. It has WWII stuff, modern and old cryptography, math, and all kinds of good stuff in it.

  17. 1984 really is a good book, forgot about that one. It's just like the movie Equilibrium. Both really good.

  18. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
    The Stand by Stephen King.
Nuremberg, Infamy On Trial by Joseph E Persico.
    All the Harry Potter books.
    Hackers by Steven Levy.

Just a few I've really liked over the years.

  19. The Ignored by Bentley Little is good.
