GrassCity getting slashdotted?

    I have the fastest internet connection available, (10mbps/1mbps), yet GC seems to be taking a very long time to load. (in excess of 2 minutes). It's like I'm on dial up half of the time. Does this have anything to do with it?
    Also, I know it's not my network connection. Here's the proof:

    I've got the same connection speed as you, and GC has been super slow since about 8. I probably is because of the number of people browsing the site

    Ah, that explains the slowness then. Damn, it's Monday 1 Feb 2010 0518 in Denmark now.

    Hell yea this site is taking so long to load lately. But i'm using an iPod so maybe that's why

    yeah its slow for me as well, takes forever just to load a page.

    i click on a thread and it takes like 2 minutes just to open it.

    It's slow for me too. I thought it was just me, guess not. It happens at night.

    It gets slow for me too. I've alerted SJ but I'm pretty sure he's aware. :) Sorry for the inconvenience, Blades.

    I've been mentioning now for months that threads that have over 500 responses will slow down the VBB software when they load - and since there's a TON of threads with more than 500 responses - well you do the math.

    Dammit now I'm gonna have to Donate 30$ I'd donate more If they had another color other then Orange :D

    Yeah, things seem to go as fast as they should now. Maybe an update to vBB fixed the high overhead of processing really really long threads. Us Blades were just too much for it to handle! :D

    We haven't had our update yet but I'm glad it's better for some members. :)
