Granddaddy Purple is tasting like ash

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by TheMastermind, Jun 25, 2017.

  1. Hi, Recently I purchased a bubbler to smoke some bowls with it. When I light an unused part of the bud the inhaled smoke tastes really bad. I don't taste any flavor consisting of berries or grape. I have cleaned out the bubbler and the problem persists. I also don't torch the weed and suck the flame towards the bud. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Sounds like it was not cured/dried properly?
BTW: GDP does not always show purple; depends on how it was grown, dried, and cured, as well as temperatures the plant experienced (cooler growing conditions=more purple depending on genetics)

  3. How would I go about doing this?

  4. The Thing is, the product smells very fresh but no flavor is released. Is this an indication of wrongdoing on my part?

  5. What do you mean "FRESH"???
    Like new mowed grass/hay???
That would indicate BAD drying or curing...GDP usually smells like Berry/Earthy IMHO

  6. By fresh I mean that the smell of the weed is very fruity and potent.

  7. That is what GDP should smell like..Did you flush before harvest..Dis you read the link I sent..If so, did you dry and cure properly..That site also contains the author's view of Flushing..A greatly debated topic!!
This was my 1st grow and I chose to flush for a week before harvest..Not GDP this time, but all 4 varieties smoke smooth and ash is grey/white. I am growing GDP this grow though.

  8. Get better weed, problem solved

  9. Try it in a vape to taste the true flavors

  10. It honestly could have been grown with fertilizers that were not properly flushed before harvest and there is really nothing you can do about it but deal with the shitty tasting bud.

  11. Or start over...take what you have and dump it into edibles.
