When im in veg 18/6 im using hps 400watt so when i have it 6hrs of darkness do i turn off the fan too or do i leave it on? same with 12/12 flowering do i leave it on or do i turn it off? any comments would help thank you grass city
You dont want to veg with an HPS light. You want to veg with a MH light (Metal Halide). Now what fan are you talking about? Exhaust fan? Intake fan? I assume you mean the fan that is used for the air cooled hood? If so yah you can turn it off when the light is not on, or you can keep it on a timer and have it kick on every once in awhile. You need to be more clear on what your asking though.
yea my bad forgot to say im using mw for veg 400watt also its just like a regular fan air conditioner fan kinda i has speed 1 2 and 3 its pretty good ac fan
shit my bad high as fuck i mean fan so should i leave the fan on when its in the darkness or turn it off?
Its up to you...you always want to have a fan on circulating in your room. Why are you so worried about your fan being on during darkness? If it is within optimal temp range when the lights are on then im sure it will be fine if you turn your fan off during darkness. Like I said before you dont want to veg with an hps light
Probably worried about having a fan on when lights are out because of temps dropping, in the winter time I keep my fan on timer. When lights go out fan does as well, in the Summer time I don't worry about it just gotta test your room out see what temps get down to when lights are out. Although I don't think it would harm them much with fan on when lights are out I mean its really for only 6 hrs or so anyways. Maybe someone with more experience can give some more comments to this, best of luck!!
I have an exhaust fan w/carbon filter, an oscillating fan to circulate the air, and a small 6" fan that just blows across the lights. The first two stay on all the time, but the other one is on the timer with the lights. The one might not be necessary, but odor control is enough of a reason for me to always have the exhaust on.
My circulating fan is a Lasko mini tower. It's smaller than that one, oscillates & the fan section is split so you can adjust them - but not remote. I hang it upside though, to keep it out of the way. I think it was only like $15 at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure about that one, but mine couldn't be on a timer because it resets and needs to be manually turned back on, as well as set back to oscillating, each time it's turned off... so it wouldn't come back on with a timer. If that wasn't clear, it's basically just a touch button. Touch once it's on high, touch again for medium, touch again for low, then touch again for off. There's another button next to that one that you touch to oscillate & touch again to stop it. So, it basically just doesn't remember the last setting and defaults to off. It doesn't go off if the power just flickers off and right back on, but the power went off for 8 minutes the other day and I had to turn it back on. I think I've seen others with towers in their grow rooms, but they removed the base & turned it sideways above the plants. Whether or not you'd want to do something like that would just depend on your layout. My area is 3' W x 2' D x 5' H, so upright & oscillating works best for me. You could also probably save a few bucks & get a model without the remote setup, if that's not something you need.
oh alright yea man but i already have that fan in my room its been there for like a year. and its pretty straight for my closet its 2' W 6' D 5' H so i think it will work good in there when i leave my door open
