ok, so last night i was drving home with my buddy pretty baked, we smoked 30 minutes earlier. now, im a VERY good driver when im high, moreso than when im sober..because i concentrate and im careful when im high. this car is following me, hes like RIGHT on my ass, im about to make a right turn, but its kind of icy so i pull into a middle lane so this dude can pass me and i can safley make a right turn...well as i slow in the middle lane, he stops with me..im like "wtf" so i turn in front of him anyway...well it was a fuckin cop. he pulls me over for an illegal right turn..i know we're fucked...we hotboxed the truck (btw i sold my mustang ) left the windows closed, didnt use eyedrops or anything like that...i roll down the window..he immediatley says "kinda smells like dope in here"...ive never been in a situation like this, and i was damn high, and i was holding..so me and my buddy admitted to sharing a bowl earlier...well he calls my freinds parents, we were about 20 ft from his house (damnit!! so close) they take him home..then they give me a sobriety test...i do it...my mom comes...but because i passed the sobriety test he couldnt legally get me with a dui LMAO (fuck the police) they even searched the truck (they called 2 more cops to the scene ) and mustve missed what i had hiding in my oakley case (pipe and about 4 g's of dank) now here's my problem, if you didnt read the above paragraph thats fine, i just need help with this...my mom knows i smoke weed now, i thought she kind of knew earlier...but she was a nerd in HS and College, and she was CLUELESS to my toking. she's reacting crazy irrationally, saying how illegal it is, and how bad it is...now she looks at me differently...we're supposed to have a talk about it when i wake up...she doesn know im awake yet..what can i tell her, and show her to help mya arguement?? i really want to try and convince her that weed isnt the satanic substance she makes it out to be// any advice, links, suggestions are greatly appreciated
Your mom will most likely get over it with time, mine did. Tell her you do it recreationally and it doesn't interfere with everything else in your life
Sounds like a crap night to me man. The only thing you can do with your mum is have a sit down and admit to toking. My perent know im smoke and are cool with it because they realise im not just a skint crack/heroin addict thats life is going nowere and repect me for that.
i already told her on the car ride home that ive been toking for 3 years and no, no law trouble at all (except a 40$ ticket for an illegal right turn )..which im really happy about because i have a underage possesion/consumption of alcohol court date soon..
Driving while high is a bad idea, not because it makes you a dangerous driver -- it doesn't. It makes most people drive safer, but if you do get into an accident, (even if it's the other guy's fault,) they'll instantly blame the pot and it'll fuck it up for the rest of us who want it legalized. Anyway, enough of my preaching. I remember when my parents caught me they were furious. My mom was just disappointed but she didn't really say anything. She just asked what the effects of pot are My dad gave me a huge lecture and refuses to do any research marijuana. I offered him a book ("Understanding Marijuana") which is non-bias, articles, etc.. but he's just totally against smoking anything. You should buy her a book. Don't tell her what it is but gift wrap it or hide it so that she'll take the time to open it instead of just seeing it in your hands and refusing to take/read it. Print out articles from the 'net if anything. Most parents wouldn't care anyway, especially the ones that were against drugs in their youth. Eventually things go back to normal though. Don't let the issue just fade away though, because if you get caught again, or worse if you get arrested, it's going to be a lot worse on your parents.
Damn, you got lucky. You should of gotten another MIC at least. Or possibly a DWUI. Seeing as you're in Colorado. But, good that you got off. As far as your mom's concerned, give her the opportunity to learn about it and show her that it doesn't effect you negatively. Continue to act responsibly and don't lose your cool when you're argueing with her or she won't take you seriously and blame it on the "drugs." Either way you'll be fine. If you have to just compromise. Worst case scenario you "quit" and maintain your smoking in your private life (as you always have) and that way everything's closer to being back to normal. She'll obviously be suspicious, but just have a good story for why you're doing whatever you're doing. Something she has to support.
he made me follow his finger illuminated with his flashlight (damn easy) he made me walk a straight line, putting one foot heel to toe in front of the other for 9 steps twice 9 one way, nine the other way(it was actually pretty hard, lol) and he made me hold one of my legs up 6 inches off the ground for 30 seconds, when he demonstrated, he even lost his balance..but he said it was ok...i didnt lose my balance the entire 30 seconds anyway..i just got into a huge argument with my mom...shes unbias about the effects of weed, and smoking in general but here entire argument is its ILLEGAL and she is making me stop because of that....my mom is a perfect law abiding citizen...if the law says its wrong..its wrong. she says im going to get caught and go to jail... how can i argue against this?? the most i could tell her is i wont get caught..she doesnt care whether or not i think its moral/immoral...she just says its illegal, and because of that..i cant smoke
Tell her that if you could smoke in the house it would get rid of your chances of getting caught. Prove to her you know the laws and that you can get out of sticky siuations. If she still donesn't want you to toke then just go back to what you did before.
my bet is shes worried shes going to have to take responsibilty for it if you are caught. and something like that is finacially and emotionally draining. and you cant really blame her for that. and if you use the whole i wont get caught theory. she will just point at what happened last night. theres no winning, you either quit. do it secretly. or wait til you move out.
Ask her if she's ever had a beer. Alcohol was illegal in the 1920s, yet it's legal today. Did the alcohol change, or did our attitude? Also explain to her that there are two classifications of illegality. Mala in se (ma-la in say) means that a crime is bad in itself. Murder, rape, theft, these things have always been considered bad. But things that are mala prohibida (ma-la pro-hib-id-a) that are illegal just because someone says so. Cutting the tag off a mattress is illegal, but who does it hurt? Prostitution is a victimless crime (in the ideal situation), as is drug use. If her only fear is you going to prison, ask her to help you out and allow you to indulge responsibly at home, or at a venue of your choice. It's the fear of being seen/caught that makes most people take chances by smoking in public or on the road.
thats more of her fear, not why its illegal, just the fact that because its illegal, and if i get caught with it i get in trouble. she probably wouldnt cmind to much if i just used it at home..its the whole buying, holding thing..i dont know how to respond to that...im probably gonna have to just tell her im quitting..and keep smoking

mistake # 1: smoking in the car, then driving mistake # 2: living at home with your mom you're in their house, you play by their rules - or dont get caught. nothing you can do now but face the music, man. you aren't going to change peoples' minds when they're all like "marijuana is illegal maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! it's baaad maaaaaan!" they dont fucking know anything... but you'll be hard pressed to change their minds.

i think she is set on not letting me smoke. i think she has more "concerns" about it than she leads me to beleive... i was explaining to her the laws that are law because they are WRONG and laws that are law because some dipshit says so...and i explained it shouldnt be illegal to put what i want in my body, especially if its not hurting anyone, not even my self here's what she pulls out on me..lol..."..well, do you know what probably had to be done to get the 'dope' into this country? alot of illegal actions, that DO hurt people. people probably died, or murdered to get it in" shes just making shit up now
