  2. They look like they are not getting enough light. They are tall and thin, reaching for it.

Also, bury the plant all the way up to the cotlydons. (sp?) They are the first two little "leaves" that pop out of the soil. If you bury the plants to just below the cotlydons, it would not be leaning over like that.

What type of lighting are you using?

*edit: One last thing. As a general rule of thumb, 1 plant per pot. Looks like you have 3 in there. Their roots will grow together and slow growth.

  3. im just using a 60 watt light bulb in my closet... If I use a beter one will they grow better/faster what? also what is the safest way to bury them how do i get them down there? you know what i mean without hurting them!

  4. First off, I'm guessing that bulb isn't a fluoro? If it isn't a fluoro your just waisting electricity. You need a hps, mh, or fluoros to grow a plant into flowering indoors. Common sense is all you need...jsut be gentle with the seed and it'll be fine.

  5. ok I have a 2 1/2 ft Flouro bulb now should i be putting them as close to the light as i can?
will they burn or anything? also I heard that mixing a cool white bulb and a soft white bulb will give you the same rays as the sun will put out, is this true?

  6. me again I have just done that transplant as you said....if i try to train the plant to stand strait with a little stick or something will it begin to go straight agin.....also how close do i keep the plants to my flouro bulb?? PLEASE HELP plants actually seem to be growing good....

  7. The fluros should be placed about 3 inches from the top of the plants. They will not burn being this close. But you have to use Cool White bulbs.

I don't know how long you have been growing them, but if you have a MH or HPS setup, they'd be MUCH bigger by now. So if you can afford it, go with one of those.

  8. I wouldn't use a stick now. Let her stand back up on her own. If not, just plant new seeds. Its not like you are very far along anyway.

I've never been in the situation you are in at the moment, so I could be wrong about using a stick for support right now. I just said what I would do. Maybe someone else who has some experience with this problem can help you.

Good luck! I hope they turn out well.

  9. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "MH or HPS setup"... i DONT UNDERSTAND...anyway I cant understand how i am supposed to keep them from growing a tall stem like that....What kind of exact light would a good one be.....brand names help a lot...and wattage!
    thanx

  10. High Presure Sodium.........

  11. MH = Metal Halide. I am using a 400 Watt MH lamp now. Sun Systems is a good brand. Rather expensive though. Bulb, Ballast, and Hood will be around $250.

HPS = High Pressure Sodium. I am switching from MH to HPS for flowering. Apparently HPS is better for flowering and MH is better for Veg. HPS costs about the same as MH.

These are the best lights for growing. Basically, they make the plants grow faster and produce bigger heavier buds. And thats the name of the game!

  12. So a lot of growing has to do with light?
If I cant afford a big light like that is there a cheaper version of it....what about plant light bulbs? are they any good...otherwise can i use multiple lights like 3 flouros? will that do?
also do i give it any time in the dark?

  13. Yeah, light is one of the most important factors. Light, water, and fresh air are the big 3. If you are missing even one of these, your plants will not grow. Thats why some people spend so much money on lighting. The better the light, the more bud.

No, there are no cheaper versions that I know of.

You can use multiple fluros. The more the better as they do not get too hot. Use more then 3.

You can leave the light on 24 hours a day. When you want to force the plant to start flowering you will switch the light to 12 hours on, 12 hours dark. You should start flowering when the plants are about 12 inches tall.

  14. be patient, you have to understand that we get hundreds of new members through the city, wanting to learn how to grow, and when most do, they hardly come back and return the favour of helping some others along the way...........

all the answers to all your questions are in the growguide at the bottom of this post, but it will take your own time and effort to read it, and then read it again, and then find another 3-4 of them, read them, try diffrent things and find what's best for you.........

i understand that a lot of it will be completely new to you, looking at your plant, i'd say it has a chance of survival, but will be lucky to give you a good yield, you have to remember what your doing is illegil, and you still get the same punishment for your small plant with the wrong lights, as you would with one grown under 1000wHPS, and yield you like 1lb of cheeba.........so the name of the game is investment, i know not everyone can have the best lights available, hell sometimes people can't even get an HPS light where they are..........if need be get more fluros, you need approx 3000 lumens (lumen is a measurement of light power) per sq foot of growroom.........hence 1 plant = 1' sq........so you'd need 3000 lumens, so you'd need a minimum of 40w of fluros to grow the plant...........but the main drawback with fluros, is that when the plant gets bigger, the fluros don't really have the power to penetrate the canopy of the plant, they also have a diffrent spectrum from what's best for growing bigger buds.............the red spectrum, which an HPS can provide...............good luck, and i hope you get some buds from the above plant, and a stick to tie off to would work, either that or tie it in 3 places round the pot, like support wires..........Peace out........Sid

  15. thankx for all the advice...though you are right a lot of the stuff i read is hard to understand....I really like think i can get them to growe it's just that i wanna know im doin it right if im gonna wist my time and my freedom like you said so anything you guys actually tell me in laymens terms actually helps....my plants seem to be doin better since the transplant into seperate pots...i lost one but oh well......the other two are goin good..The only other thing i nee to ask is, can i keep my lights on 24 hours til they get 12" tall the do 12 on 12 off?

  16. just thought i'd show youguys how she looks now (the strongest plant) whatdoyah think?

  17. I know how you feel. Sometimes you are just at a loss and can't figure it out. Like Sid said, read the grow guides. When I came here, I asked a lot of questions too. But I took their advice and read the grow guides over and over and over. The more you read them, the more you will understand. Even if you don't understand it the first time you read it, read it again. Eventually it will make sense. Trust me.

Yes, you keep the lights on 24 hours until you start flowering. Which will be in about 1 month. Possibly longer since you will be using fluros instead of MH or HPS.

  18. She looks MUCH better then she did the other day.

But she still looks a little tall and slightly thin. I'd add a couple more fluros as soon as you can.

  19. that's looking better.......have you got a fan gently blowing across it?......as this will help strengthen the stem..........as for the light schedule, if your pushed for time, go with 24/0, but i prefer 18/6, and then 12/12, as it's not such a big change as 24/0 to 12/12............you could use 24/0, and then 2 weeks before triggering flowering, go to 18/6, and then 12/12..........Peace out...........Sid

  20. thanx a lot guys im gonna keep up on all this stuff im gonna go get a met halide bulb and give it a try why not spend the money for my babies right.....the fan yes i do thanx....peace out all ill be coming back with updates along the way please come back and tell me how im doin all your information has helped so much and is greatly appreciated..thanx peace out
