Okay i germinated some ak 47 seeds and im bout to plant them, now once i put them in the soil do i want to put light on them? i hav a flood, or like a worklight type of thing with the metal cage aorund the front, it puts off a lot of heat and is really bright is this a good l ight? i also have a black florescent light and a growing florescent 75 watt light, My buddie said use the work light for heat and light and also the florescent? what woul you reccomend? -----Also about watering? once the sprout is out of the dirt when would it be time to water? how many times a day and what not
well chances are the light with the metal around it is a Halogen, no good for growing... Black lights are also no good for growing... but the 75w floro should be good enough to get your plants started. when you first put your seeds in the soil keep em on 24/0 light for about a week or two, thats what ive done anyways... and its turned out pretty good. Look into getting another floro light for the time being too. and a HPS for later on.
i tell you i spent 50 USD for a dusk to dawn HPS outside light, 50 bucks for 70 watts of HPS was ideal for me, i want to do these half ass right and still spend as little as possible. you can find these lights at most big chain hardware stores. like home depot, stines, Ace. anywhere that sells outside lights. only modifications i did was wire it to a three prong plug and i taped the sensor. growing 3 dark lovely ladies.
