Gorgeous Green Leaves look like taco shells

  1. I have 3 haze plants and 2 Isis plants. one of the isis is growing with the northern lights pheno, its staying short and has fatttttt leaves. that 1 northern light pheno'd isis looks gorgeous, perfect shade of greeen, the only problem is, the leaves are curling up like taco shellz too.. the humidity is rather low, its at a constant 30-35 percent. what can i do to keep it at 50-60 or so.. i have a 1000 hps light on them, the temp is 90 degrees avg. and i have 2 fans in there as well. the light is about 30 inches away from the tops of the plants, and they arent wilting up or turning colors, just a perfect shade of green and folding up like tacos.. what do i doooo?!?!

  2. sounds like possible heat stress......put a wet towel in front of a fan to raise the humidity, see if this helps....you may need to get a humidifier

another cause of taco leaves is a mag def, but you should also see a lightning of color between the veins of the leaves strating at the leaf tips, but yours are dark healthy green so its most likely trying to conserve transpiration

  3. thanxx for ur reply ganja, ill try the wet towel technique but ill also look into getting a humidifyer. thanks for ur help!

  4. not sure if I would put a wet towel near the fan but that is going in the right direction. If it is at a constant low humidity I would get a humidifier like he said. The cheap way of doing it is to put a bowl of water near the plant to help raise the humidity.

The taco shape is a constant sign of heat stress. Cannabis likes it's temperature to be in the mid to high 70's (Fahrenheit.) Does your HPS have a clear heat shield? Some higher end reflectors come with one. If not then try and get a little more ventilation in there or upgrade the reflector.

BTW, If you have a soil plant then it would be wise to SLIGHTLY cover the top soil as the roots can under go heat stress as well.
    Good Luck!!!

  5. Having this problem too, but my humidity is really high. Like 65%. I just watered them yesterday. Might be heat stress, ill try and raise the lights a bit.
