  1. What is it? Why's it on my computer? And what's it do?

I always see it on my task manager, I never downloaded anything like, I always end up just exiting the program. Can anyone explain what it does and why it's there and how I can just get rid of it for good?

  2. It's part of a Google desktop program that apparently has a memory leak and doesn't uninstall when its parent does. First, to be safe, go to start > run msconfig and go to the startup tab and see if its in the list of startup programs. If it is, remove it. Then kill it from the task manager if you haven't already. This should solve the issue, but to be sure, try removing it thru the add / remove programs control panel, or find its install directory by searching for the executable file name and see if there's an uninstaller in there, or if you have no luck just delete the install directory altogether.
