Good Times in the Centennial State!

  1. All right, I finally got my little cabinet grow fired up again. My seeds showed up yesterday, right on time after our governor finally signed off on the law earlier this week, and waddya know, Big O said this morning it's hands-off time.

My set up is pretty simple - Home Depot wardrobe cabinet, 70W HPS, 2x45W compact flouros (actual wattage, not incandescent equivalent, I forget the lumens), 1x4" inline fan controlled by a cooling thermostat, and an electric space heater. I've run this before with a 250W HID; worked good but a little hard to control the heat.

I ran it yesterday and last night, and it's been sitting steady around 80 degrees, nice and stable. The seeds went in this morning.

I'll post up pics when I get chance. This is so much more relaxing now that it's LEGAL and no one can fuck with me! :hello:

  2. Looking forward to those pictures. Sounds like a nice setup. What kind of seeds you growing?

Also, what do you mean by Pres. Obama saying "it's hands off time"? That would be a good thing if he was going to publicly announce a relaxation in federal enforcement.

  3. Obama said this morning that the Feds are going to leave things alone in Colorado and Washington. They're not going to try to block implementation of the laws. That doesn't mean that they won't swoop in and bust commercial operations once they open up, but they're definitely not going after personal growers and users in any case.

Seeds? The usual polyhybrid stuff bought from a seedbank, a few different supposed indoor varieties. I like to mix and match and sling some pollen. I never know what I'm gonna pull out; that's why I like to grow from seed!

And yep, the cabinet works good. I've reworked it and cut so many holes in it over time, it's like a piece of swiss cheese!

    Thanks for dropping in BongAttack!

  4. LOL, I know what you mean. I just made two grow cabs and I had to widen the exhaust holes over and over again until I finally got the temps under control.

That's awesome you make your own seeds. I'm hoping one of my three new seedlings is male so I can do the same. The cloning process seems like it's a pain in the ass to keep up with.

  5. Man you guys are lucky...I'm in a medicinal state but have been thinking of relocating to CO or WA where cannabis is implicitly LEGAL. Every paycheck I look at the state axes I pay and it saddens me that some of it is used to imprison people for growing or possessing a plant.

Anyway I digress, keep us updated on progress. And where's some pics already?

  6. Hehehe, patience, we're in the middle of a major snow event, so I'll be digging for the next day or two!

  7. Yea snow...that's like a double edged sword to me when I think about relocating there. On one hand I would love snowboarding out there, on the other I wouldn't enjoy digging my car out every time I want to go somewhere.

  8. I502 in Washington doesn't allow us to grow, only poses a certain amount. And untill they come back to the table with a regulation plan next year every one has to continue to purchase from illegal sources. For it will still be illegal to grow or sell with out a liscens but least were taking a step in the right direction.

Colorado will be legal to grow a hand full of plants.

  9. It's really not all that bad. Unless you live in the moutains, winters are short and mild, we just get blasted with snow now and then, followed by sunshine that melts it all off. And our average nice days here are better than the best days anywhere else I've ever lived.

  10. No, not will be legal...is legal. Six plants per person, three flowering at any one time.

Three for me, three for my wife. I'm only growing under about 150w, and that's more than the two of us could ever use. She doesn't use it, never has, but her arthritis bothers her, so once I get ramped up, I'll try her out on a tincture to see if it helps. Bud, kief, oil, hash, edibles...yum!

Think about what I could do with six trees under big lights. Our law allows us to keep all of our harvest, as much as we want, as long as it stays at the location where it was grown. If I'm out and about, I can only carry an oz - I guess I can live with that, LOL.

  11. So, I mentioned I was delayed a bit by a snow event...

  12. Well CO it is for me then. That's the two year plan. 3 budding plants is fine with me especially if I got 3 more in veg right behind em.

  13. So here's my cabinet; this was built to be low profile, not stealth. It kind of blends in with the rest of the crap in my shop.

  15. Passive intake vents, 4", covered with carbon air filter material, just to keep some of the dust out and block light from the inside and out.

  16. Sorry.. As I recall Washington.. Which is my state Was legal as of December 6th.. And Colorado still had a year before it was truly legal. Or is that just a deadline to regulate.

  17. Personal grows and possession are legal now in Colorado. The legislature has to write the laws for retail distribution by July of next year, with expected sales starting early in 2014. How all of that shakes out is unknown. Some counties and cities are already outlawing the retail busines though, which the amendment allows them to do.

  18. also known as the "highest state"

  19. Yeah we're seeing that same issue here. A lot of company's in Washington have federal funding.

  20. Ah, fuck, brutal cold and snowy weather here, I've spent days pushing snow. But you just can't suppress life; warmth + moisture + light = life!
