Good Spots to live in America, surround by forests/trees?

Discussion in 'The Great Outdoors' started by GreenRush, Jul 30, 2012.

  1. I'm moving soonish and I was planning on moving to denver but it seems like a desert?!?!?

But now Im thinking santa cruz/ san jose?!?

I longboard a lot so hills would be great. I don't care if its near a big city. I just want to be able to escape pretty easily.

    Any ideas appreciated :p

  2. I live in Oregon. So much green everywhere.

  3. Yeah I was thinking about it, stereotypical American pine trees along a highway. Such a dream of mine.

Isn't hard to get a job though?

  4. I live in Portland OR which is a nice city that is paved well (number one bike city in the country) for longboarding and surrounded by limitless areas of wildlife. My surroundings are what made me major in Environmental Science. BTW i longboard too and LOVE it

  5. I longboard to work, and frequently take trips out into the forest which surrounds my suburb when I want to get away

  6. Sounds awesome, I'm really keen to do something with architecture or become a park ranger or something.

  7. The Driftless Area.. look it up.. you want rolling bluffs.. tons of forest and limestone fed creeks.. this area is absolutely beautiful.. oh yeah and did i mention no shortage of ganj :)

  8. Somewhere in cali thanks

    or oregon

    or around the west coast

  9. Santa cruz is beautiful dude
Mountains and wilderness yet theres town and streets

  10. Yea man Santa Cruz is really nice, especially if you like forests. If not there, I suggest a bit more North (kinda near Humboldt area) because it's Redwoods galore out there. I can't speak for Oregon, as I've never been there, but I can say with certainty that you will love Northern California if you like forests/wilderness.

Kinda off-topic but I hear a lot of Aussies tend to like California/the Bay Area because it's more similar to Australia than the rest of the US.

  11. what's your reasoning for the west coast?

wyoming would have a lot of forests. It's pretty big state with like 400,000 people. Bud might be scarce

  13. Eugene in Oregon is awsome too. It has good forest, streams, camping, and best of all a COLLEGE TOWN (meaning it got that fresh poon)

  14. I hate the beaches, so much seaweed. Well its like that in Australia, (except Queensland)

Cali beaches look beautiful though. I was thinking santa cruz because it was close to beaches aswell

  15. I don't know, more people, I've always wanted to live in Cali. It must be weird for you because you live in America. Its like if an American came to me and says, "Omg I want to live in Sydney so bad" I'll be like "Phhhh fuck off, every wheres the same"

So can you explain some other good medical states with forests :)

It just seems Calis fucking awesome

  16. Cali is dope and I actually might move there soon but Seattle is my home.

The PNW has the best of everything!
Dope snowboarding, awesome longboarding, awesome mtn biking, awesome hiking, camping, and some damn cold surf to shred! You cant go wrong. The music scene is pretty legit too.

But damn does it rain sometimes!

  17. PNW???:confused::confused:

  18. Pacific northwest!

  19. Move to Pittsburgh lots of forest, good hills to longboard, and good bud

  20. Preferably a medical state or one close to legalization.
