Hi GC, During my last run of auto's I had 2 LST mishaps. Snapped the main stem on a Jock Horror and a week later snapped the main of a Blue Mystic. Taped both and they recovered but both produced about 200 seeds per plant I'm guessing because of the stress. 2 other plants (with no LST breaks) had no seeds that were in the grow room during the same period. My question is are these good seeds or are they hermie prone? Thanks
A little background: No till soil 5 Gal fabric pots ( I had worms in the root balls after harvest!!!) during last run. I have 3 compost piles. I have worm bins. My static bins are crawling with soil mites, tiny black beetles, rollie po lys, worms... Main static bin cooking 5 months. Upgrading to 7 gal fabric SIP's I am on the edge of organic greatness I think, but : Are the seeds any good? Thanks
I am not an expert on autos, but they are flawed genetics. Need more information on how they were grown indoor/ outdoors? If outdoors what part of the country are you in? When did you break the stems during flower or before? A lot could go into why the hermie. If you stressed them in flower and the genetics are unstable then BOOM! Perfect storm.
A plant that hermied has the trait and will pass it down to its seeds. How prone will the offspring be is anyone's guess. They could grow normally and only hermie in extreme cases (like it happened to yours after extreme stress) or they could hermie easily with little or no stress, the question is are you feeling lucky?
Looking at notes 2017 24/0 thru the entire run. Seeds popped 8/24 Started LST 9/11 Preflower 9/12 Blue Mystic topped 9/16 (day 23). Chopped at 68 days. Seed to harvest 9-11 weeks per Nirvana. Jock Horror topped 9/21 (day 28). Chopped at 87 days. Seed to harvest 11-13 Thank you for the input.
So you topped them after flower. Seems like you were indoors. It could have been the stress, I would talk to the seed bank you got them from because the seemed unstable when you germed them. You can keep the seeds and try again but they have a higher likelihood of hermie as scobbie said. I popped 5 seeds from a hermie plant and they all hermied. Never know
First time I've heard of anyone hermying an auto. Well done mate lol. Personally I'd stick to dutch passion, mephisto or fastbuds for autos. They're all pretty solid genetics. Pretty hard to fuck em up. Sent from my SM-G850F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
