  1. Alright, currently upgrading my grow set I have for 2 plants here's what I ordered.

Switched over to Hydroponic kit with 5 Gallon Culture Method

    - I have feeling the air pump will go out pretty quickly.

Sun System® HPS 150W Grow Light Fixture 16k Lumens

Already got flat white painted closet, was already like that when I moved in :hello: - Inside of door is too for some reason ;)

Also I bought some nutrients as well.

Also bought the misc stuff, temp. gauge and humidity gauge Ph tester and such as well.

Will this make a good start for a new grow?

I previously have used soil medium before, and I have heard such good input on hydro.

Previously I used CFL's with splitters.

Has anyone experimented with exhausting into an attic with a charcoal type filter?

    Thanks for the input!

  2. So far everything you've purchased will stabilize you for a successful grow if used properly.
Measure the pH of your water twice or more a day.
What are the dimensions of your closet and the cfm of your blower?
Airflow is very important when growing indoors, especially hydro

  3. I haven't looked into a blower, could a typical bathroom one work? and just wire it up the the ceiling? the demension of the closet are 30(76cm)x27(68cm) (inches) with 10 foot ceiling space

  4. 1.17Square meter

To start I would get 2 ordinary oscillating fans (and put them on opposite corners of the closet.

Then your going to need something to bring fresh air into the room and pull old air out, (The Blower) this will help prevent fungus and rot.
It doesn't have to be an expensive blower but you will need one if you want the plants to get fresh air constantly.
The goal of any indoor grow is to replicate the conditions of an outdoor environment while also utilizing the advantage's of being able to manipulate the environment at the fingertips of the grower (but sunshine beats lights any day)

With your light setup 2 of these with 4 in ducting would do the job.
One for pulling air in and 1 for pulling air out

(Don't buy that one I'm sure there's cheaper ones on the internet to find)

Would that be a decent one?

Yes, that's a good one for bringing the air from the closet out.
But you also need to bring fresh air into the room.
Make sure that when the fan pulls the air in the closet (bringing it out) that it does up and out not down and out, since heat rises.

  8. So rule of thumb for proper air flow and ventilation, hot air rises (of course) so exhaust air from the top. Intake fresh air from the bottom so it rises to meet hot air (eventually). So it creates a good circulation (using commonsense).

    Am I correct?

Also the filter prevents the smell from being exhausted out?

  9. yes correct have a passive intake near on the inferior and exhaust at the top

the ultimate goal of odor control is to create negatives pressure inside your grow area as all the air with any particles from inside the closet are filtered

  10. So let's say I place two ordinary fans. both in corners but make one point towards the plant directly, then one by the intake area, with the second fan point towards the filter?

Large represent looking into a closet from the door - Fan by intake slightly airing plants

  11. Looks good to me, but to get even more accurate support you should post a grow log with pics when everything is setup:)

  12. Will do without a doubt!

  13. Cant tell fromthe pic but the oscilitatin fan on the wall should be just above the plant when you start flowering

Don't have the fan blowing air back out the passive intake lol the setup looks great!
