I have these 4 plants, one @ 3 weeks old, the others 11 days old, under a 2700 lumen, 6500k, 48" fluorescent. They're growing VERY slowly, but their color is good. I think they should be growing faster, and I figured that the light level is the problem. I read that sunlight works out to between 5000 & 9500 lumens per sq. ft., (depending on who you trust ) So do I need to add more light?
yes u need more lights some important things to look for with lights: lumens and watts the lumens is the amount of light waves that reach the plant and is directly affected by wattage (wattage goes up lumens go up) the general rule for flouros (tubes or clfs) is 100w for the first plant and 50w for each extra plant
Yeah, I got (2) 32 watt tubes, so... 64 Since I can't get enough 4' fluoro's around it to add up, I guess I'll need to go over to point source CFL's with reflectors... Thank you for the info tho!!!
I imagine this rule is only for fluoro's. What is the rule of thumb for HIS and MH lights? (Watts to plants)
