  1. I just picked up a 6inch inline booster fan at Home Depot for 27$! Everyone bitches about these inline fans being loud so i was expecting the worst, but this thing is pretty silent. It's quiter than my desk fan at full speed and the box says it moves 250cfm this thing is great for a cabinet grow. The brand is "Inductor".

  2. haha this is pretty ironic, I picked up the same fan just two days ago myself, except I got it at lowes. It's a Suncourt fan, but "Inductor" series/model. Does put out 250cfm like poof mentioned, and I'm glad to hear it's not too loud because I haven't wired it up yet. So I agree great find!

Hey poof quick question, how did you wire it up? Does yours have a black, white, and green assortment of wires? Did you rig it to a dimmer switch or something? If so is the switch on the outside of your growroom/box?

  3. You think the fan u are referring to will replace my current cpu fan for my exhaust and also push air quick enough thru my homemade carbon scrubber for my small cab.

My cabs not too big, 4x2x2 . Basically, since everyone tells me my cpu fan will not be enough to push air thru the scrubber, i want to replace it w/a stronger fan but im on a budget.

  4. haha i just picked myself up 2 of these damn things a week ago! i might get another one once i get my carbon scrubber, cause im gonna go to my local glass producer and find out if they make 6 inch glass tubes so i can make a cool tube for my HPS. man i hope they do!

  5. How well does it work? I'd much rather spend 30 than 200... and that means I'd get to grow a HELL of a lot sooner!

  6. Hi everyone, I just picked up one today from home depot because I was having heat problems in my stealth cab , I just had a crapy fan. And WOW this thing works awsome
and so quite, I also added a fan control dimer to reg the fan speed. With my other fan I was
running at 80 now I`m running at 75 sweet, I could see that the plants where heat stressed.
I also had a problem finding one, I had to go to 2 diffrent locations, I wonder why
they are so popular  Well worth it.

  7. Ima probally just buy one for my homeade filter since im usuing floro's. Already have one 6 inch duct fan for extracting air out my box gonna add one at the end of my filter to push more air thru it good idea or bad idea. Using the sandwich idea filter-charcoal-filter-charcoal with cotton balls on both ends to pick up heavy particles meaing longer life for my carbon Im also gonna soak my filters in Ona Gel :D please give feedback

  8. this tread couldnt have come at a better time 4 me, i myself am getting ready to get one,

we have a lowes and they dont carry shit 4 fans, but we just had a home dep. built here, i aint been in it yet. but i soon will.

    thanks 4 the info. :smoking:

  9. The fans are super easy to wire up. Just take a 3-pronged extension cord (I used one for going from my computer to the wall) and hack off the female end. Strip the wires and match them to your fan and you're done. Simple.

  10. ha I went and bought one the other day myself. I got the 6" 250cfm inline booster. Well I am not to impressed with it. I have a dayton 105cfm that pushed and pulls more air. I have it running through homemade carbon scrubber, and it restricks quite a bit of the air flow. I hae a 105cfm dayton that pushed just as much. If you want to run it through a carbon scruber I would suggest gettingt he 500cfm it is only a few bucks more and it is 10" If anybody has a diy on how to set up a dimmer on a fan it would be greatly appreciated.

  11. Them suncourt fans have big CFM ratings but can't push any static pressure. Means they wont pump or push air very good. It is why real inline fans cost so much and make such racket. I tried them and now they are in my scrap pile. You will see.

  12. yeah i don't know why you guys are so excited about these. i made the mistake of getting a couple of the 8" "inductor" fans that are supposed to be "500cfm". i hooked them up to my 2 home made air scrubbers, one pushing through one of them, and the other is pulling through one.

pure crap either way you have them set up.

  13. The easiest way to wire it is to get three wirenuts and an extension cord. cut the female end off and split the three wires and skin the insulation off the ends. The ground wire (usually the middle wire) on the extension cord will go to the Green wire on the fan. Twist them together in a clockwise direction and then screw a wire nut on. Do the same with the Black and White wires on the fan. It doesn't matter which of the two wires on the extension cord you attach to either fan wire. Straight up 100% power. If you want to control the speed, you will need a dimmer switch and a box...same basic principle.

  14. those fans are worthless for your purposes...trust me
