Good books on Phsycodelics and their History?

  1. I've been doing alot of research on salvia, shrooms, LSD, LSA, DMT etc.. I am now looking for a book that has cultural history along with some knowledge about all the aspects of hallucinagens. I'm a fairly big fan of the limited amounts of work ive been able to get my hands on of Timothy learys stuff, and terence Mckenna. I havent read any of their stuff yet. But what books are out there that are good, informative, interesting, and most importantley thought provoking?

  2. A must for psychedelic research, imo, is Mckenna's Food of the Gods. a nother great read is Psychedelic Shamanism by Jim DeKorne.

  3. I'm currently reading DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman. It's about the studies he did with DMT in New Mexico (I'm not trying to spell that city, Albeyouknowwhat). It's very interesting and thought provoking, how he tries to ultimately figure out what the purpose of naturally occuring DMT is in our bodies. Found it at Borders.
