My GonG downstem is stuck in my tube. I've searched and some say to put it in the freezer. I have done that a couple times but no luck. Anyone have any better ideas, it has been stuck in my tube for about a week so any help would be appreciated.
The freezer is an awful idea and a good way to..freeze it in place. Try running the joint under some hot water and then take a paper towel and gently try to twist the downstem out.
Is it stuck because of resin or alil bit of water get on the stem when you slid it back in place? I would soak the whole tube in simple green or maybe get a paper towel soaked in iso an wrap it around the joint n downstem hopefully it'll soak down into the joint enuf to unstick it. Or just leave it an always clean the whole thing with it stuck in there.
It is stuck bc of water between the glass. I have tried running it under water also and that did nothing. Ill keep trying thanks for the advice.
Yeah I wouldn't expose your glass to any drastic tempeture changes as you risk it breaking. What has worked for me in the past is to soak the joint in ISO and let it dry, most of the time it will evaporate the water in the joint and release the bowl. Good luck, just becareful pulling it out (thats what she said).
Do u just throw some iso in ur tube to cover all the way up or do you fill something up with iso then put ur tube in there?
