Gone for the weekend! Watering?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by BettyBud, Mar 3, 2016.

  1. Hey guys, I will be gone from Friday afternoon until Sunday night.. Can I water them before I leave and everything will be good you think? They are 2 weeks old and usually I feed them every second day anyways.. Its my 2nd grow. If u want to see pictures I made a grow journal. FYI I'm growing in soil with perlites and a little bit of coco. Thanks

  3. If they are only (2) weeks old they don't need a lot of water. I give my babies just 1/4 cup of phed water every (5) days to day (25). I pour it slowly right at the stem. I don't ever soak the entire medium until the beginning of week (4). That makes the roots look for another water source, but those roots that go looking for another water source don't really need to find another water source until week (4) because they will be feed and kept moist by the water saturated root build up that is right below the stem.

  4. Most peeps water their soil till runoff (assuming there is enough porosity in the soil to not turn to mud) from the bottom of the pots. Then don't water again till the weight of the pot reduces to a near dry state. At two weeks they should be good for a week or more depending on pot size.
Watering only on the roots doesn't make sense to me as you want the roots to grow by searching for moisture. As an example, I had put some newly rooted clones in solo cups with pro mix but didn't realize the drain holes didn't keep a puddle from forming in the bottom of the cup. I went to transplant and there were almost no roots as they had reached the puddle and and had no reason to grow more to find water

  5. Thats nothing dude dont sweat it. It would cross my mind maybe if gone for 2 weekends but a non issue here

  7. The plants looked happy when I came back :)

I topped my plants as I want to put them into flower in a week already, as I will have to finish by May 13th. So time is kind of short.. Does it look right? I think I fucked up on the first two :/ should I have asked you guys before or will the plants forgive me?

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Topping I do 3 nodes then top. Usually make it to 4 or 5 tops before flowering. Timing...do you mean like light timing?

  9. Hi and thank you! I meant the way I topped them though. U will see in the last 3 pictures how I did it.. Also: would they finish before May 13th when I put them into flower in a week?

  10. The split looks good! Topping takes practice but it looks like you nailed it. As far as hitting May 13... Flower takes 50-70 days depending on strain. Even then you need a couple of weeks to dry and 3 mos to cure. So...

  11. 3 months cure would be ideal but you can start smoking on your harvest as soon as it's dried. The longer you let it cure though you will find the texture improving along with the taste and smell however.

If you need to be harvesting by may 13 you should really be flowering already.

  12. And the potency! But yes...many of us start dipping in as soon as it is dry enough. ;)
