    ok this is a really dumb question.
    today i was golfing and i hit the ball in the rough (i suck at golf)
    and as im walking i see what i think is a marijuana plant.
    i'm not sure if it really is, because i know nothing about this. i've never grown or even smoked the thing. but it looked like the pictures i've seen.

    is this possible at all? would somebody plant there or could it grow wildly?

    More likely a discarded seed by someone rolling a joint or packing a bowl out on the course.

    Not a dumb question at all mate!
    Can you get some pics of it? the guy above me could be right. I dont think it'd be wild if it was a mj plant/

    Yeah dude go back and take some pics. Pot leaves can have many different looks but heres some main characteristics:

    -the leaflets or "fingers" are all joined in the middle of each leaf
    -the leaf can have any odd number between 3-9 fingers
    -the veins will be vaguely visible; you'll probably see the main vein then only the branches off that one

    just to add on, the main thing (visually) that differs among each type of plant is that the fingers may be really narrow or really fat.. hope all this helps :)

    i'll try to go take pics but i don't golf a lot and i'll have to find a camera.

    oh and also the plant was skinny and messy looking. if you know what i mean.

    when i saw it, it reminded me of a picture a guy posted of his own grow on this site.
    but now i can't find it and i've been looking forever.
