  1. Well I decided to come to grasscity with my build. People are un-friendly and are not replying with 300 views on a GOLF CART FORUM haha..

Here is the scoop. I have had this golf cart sitting around for several years because the engine blew. I recently decided to fix it up and make it awesome.

I've got a 200sx 4 wheeler engine that I'm going to put on it. I hope this is enough power to pull this thing around :devious: I have a friend re-building the carburetor at the moment. I'm also painting the thing before I put this bad boy on it.

Here are some pictures of the sanding job so far.. I'm pretty much done sanding, I just cant figure out what color to paint it :(

My uncle had it at his house for years... one day I went over there and it was all painted a shitty excuse for a paint job and he was about to sell it. I said it was mine and took it, at least thats about how it went down. So now I had to sand through his current crap job and 3 other paint jobs.

    Any-who, here's the pics:

After sanding a bit, there was a lot of spots where I had to sand down deep scratches, this sanding took FOREVER  :

Here is under the seat, I'm not going to do much sanding here, just gonna do a quick paint:

That box you see is a gear box

The seats have some fabric over them, I'm going to change the fabric to a different color:

And lastly, here is it almost dont sanding and ready for paint:

Thanks for looking, but help me out with some things.

I wanted to go camo on the whole thing, but I don't want to put a bunch of money into it.. Is there any way I can red-neck a camo paint job that looks really good? If I don't go camo I was thinking some kind of lime-green metallic paint. I like anything metallic though.

The faster helpful responses and feedback, the faster I can get this thing painted and ready for off-roading with pictures you can enjoy :smoke:

  2. Honestly if it's not a project you want to drop money into, especially for a top paint job... I would just rattle can it. I have seen quite a few really good spray can jobs. The key is mostly to keep to a bunch of thin coats of paints, but don't forget to primer first, and lay down some clear coat after to help make it last. All of this is available in alright can-form for not too much money, and would save a bunch. You could also do camo patterns by just layering different colors, either using a military-esque blotched patter, or laying actual leaves, grasses, etc. over it and blast it with paint, like a stencil.

  3. Yea man, I was going to do the paint with spray cans anyways. There is another option I've been considering. Roll on herculiner truck bed coating. This stuff looks pretty cool on a golf cart, I've seen a few on the web. The real reason I'm skeptical about painting with is because its in a shed and the shed is dirt, i dont want to make the paint look like crap from kicked up dirt.
