Going to try

  1. Gonna try outdoors next spring. First time ever hydroponic.
What are the thoughts on best setup for 2 plants ?
Also the water temp. Why is it so important to control it ? We don’t do it for outside potted plant.
Anything other helpful info ya can throw a first timer.

  2. why outdoors?
I prefer having an external reservoir containing a pump (on a timer) that sprays water onto the root system. I've used halo rings and aeroponic sprayers to achieve this. A 5 gal bucket works nice, but I get the ones from Uline since they have a rubber ring in the lid to prevent backsplash (when using aeroponics).
because the water temps rise and the opportunistic pathogens enjoy that.
I recommend reading this article. Algae doesn't really grow in soil either (although sometimes). If you keep the soil too wet, plants will die. Different media, different concerns.
Follow the experienced. Make sure you have good pH and EC meters. Use beneficial organisms (Hydroguard, RootShield, EarthAlive, etc). Chill the water to about 17-20 °C. Go easy on the nutes. Train your plants.

just a snap for two plants in hydro (as I explained). The fertilizer solution just drains back to a reservoir. I have more details in my grow journals, like Aeroponic model 4Z0 Stoner Experiment #1745188 rev_2.b
