whats up stoners. ive been looking into getting a bus from uk to amsterdam. supposedly it arrives in amsterdam at 10am and it departs at 8pm. do you think thats enough time to do some things other than sitting in a coffee shop and getting blazed? will i have enough time to see a museum or that anne frank thing. a zoo maybe? do you guys know some interesting things to do there? i should be going this saturday. thanks
does anywhere sell empty pre rolled cones? because i cant roll and i dont want to buy the pre rolled joints.
That's a quick day, and if you plan on spending some of it in a coffee shop, that will probably leave you time for one other activity. Maybe a quick stop at a second museum. Van Gogh is my favorite museum. Go in the afternoon if you want to avoid most of the crowds. Anne Frank House is something to experience, though the lines are wicked long. Would recommend the Jewish History Museum instead. Stay away from the Heineken tour, it blows. I'd recommend you spend an extra €20 for a hostel bed, and take the 8PM bus out the second day. Hostels also have the cheapest beer, which is food (or drink) for thought. You might also meet some temporary travel companions, but at the very least you'll get more than 8 hours in the city.
There are cool, laid back people in the coffee shops that will be more than happy to help you out. One of my favorite things about Europe is how you can occupy an empty seat at a table of people. Just ask to join some folks that suit you and have at it. My favorite shop is the Grasshopper but, there are many from which to choose. The Grasshopper has a restaurant & pub so, you can save time on what you need with such a short visit. Have a fine time, amigo! Cheers
I was just thinking the samee thing. I want to go out there but i don't know anyone and no one from cali wants to go.
Traveling solo is perhaps the most liberating experience a person can have. Believe when I say that it is not hard to meet people when you stay in a hostel, no matter how introverted you are.
Really i wouldn't know. I have the $ and the time off work. It's just that when you take a friend you have fun immediatel you knoww. I'll have to put that on my 2014 check list. Uh...I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but there is a body of water between UK and Amsterdam known as the North Sea. Buses do not drive very well under the North Sea.
North Sea is up north beside Scotland. We have a Eurotunnel that travels underwater from England to France (I think). Dunno what that body of water is called but it's not the north sea. The Zoo is brilliant, deffo recommend. Have fun dude!
Yes that's a lot of time. I suggest riding through the canals, eating at local fast food joints, try to get into the Van Gogh museum. You can go to Anne Franks hideout but there's always a long line, it would be a waste of time. Walk around the red light district a bit. Live sex theaters are chill if that's your thing
