Post war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb. TOHO announced this film on November 3, 2022 and released it a year later on November 3, 2023. November 3 is the anniversary of the original film, with TOHO beginning to market it as "Godzilla Day". The release of the film also coincided with new 4K restorations of the original Godzilla films from TOHO's Togen Film lab. However, that same month saw TOHO shut down the Togen film lab, resulting in the loss of over 1000 titles in film, TV, and anime due to Japanese copyright law 40sec clip: Instead of creating a new roar, the crew simply played the original Godzilla roar over loud speakers and recorded the audio. 30sec clip: Gareth Edwards, who directed the 2014 American film, attended a screening of the film. Edwards described a feeling of jealousy while watching the film, stating, "This is what a Godzilla movie should be like." 2mins: Imax version: This is the first Godzilla movie to be a period piece, set during the American occupation of Japan and almost a decade before the original Godzilla (1954). According to a theatrical pamphlet released with the film, Shin Godzilla (2016) had been so successful, both critically and financially, that Toho was struggling to make a follow up. Countless proposals were made, but none felt they could live up to the impact Shin Godzilla (2016) had with how popular and acclaimed it was with Japanese audiences. It wasn't until Yamazaki came in with the proposal of making a period piece that Toho could finally begin producing a new film. Out December the 1st
My Husband Like Godzilla Movies Alot I Show Him This An He Say He Will See It With Me. Thanks @Vee ~Toni~
Heard great things about this movie. I've never been big into Godzilla but there's not much out in theatres right now so I might go see it in the next couple weeks
REALLY GOOD, Movie of the year for me, and I'm a recent convert to the series A Kamikaze pilot, with a serious 'yellow streak' takes on Godzilla so annoying in places you feel like you wanna slap him about some, But his reluctance does help the story, and the ending just sucked but he is a softy and made for todays softy-softy Japanese teens. above the 2nd encounter, what a great job he's got? (25s) Instead of creating a new roar, the crew simply played the original Godzilla roar over loud speakers and recorded the audio. Stoner Value High ( I got the subtitled version, English Dub out much later)
I was not told about the subtitles, that will put many off, but not as bad as the ongoing soap ...lol
