Goals?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by Revolution?, Mar 13, 2005.

  1. Everyone has aspirations and things they strive for but most rarely pursue the more challenging, and ultimately, more rewarding goals. Instead we focus on minimal activites/routines to bring us the slightest bit of 'happiness', our day transpires as nothing more than a meaningless series of chemical reactions. The morning cup of coffee (or the wake n' bake for us at the City) exemplifies this mindset, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it can be a positive distraction from the constant tedium of every day life. Since most of us are forced to live the 9-5 daily grind, helping others achieve off our work, the more distractions the better.

However, I believe it is the bigger goals, the notions which may seem unreachable, dreams, which give life a sense of purpose. We exist for a brief amount of time, might as well make the most of it, lest we live life with regret.

So, my question to you all, what are your goals or passions in life?

  2. heavy man....well my goals? i want to go to a really good music college such as berklee or UARTS and major in a recording engineer, and do live sound, and take some rock guitar classes. Then hit the road for a few years, and do professional live sound for a band, then settle down eventually with a recording studio. but who knows, anything could happen, just live every day to its fullest.

  3. just to do whatever i want and what makes me happy. not what others want from me or tell me to do.

  4. wow, look forward to reading more of your posts!

my goals are to be happy, and to use the gifts ive been given.

  5. My goal is to persue my love for art, completing many works in my lifetime, and hopefully one day exhibiting in some large exhibitions.

When Im doing a painting/drawing/sculpture/etc, I always enjoy it, and once completed, each piece feels like a great achievement and goal that has been finished. As long as Im an artist, I will always have goals to persue new ideas for my work.

Hopefully my work will take me travelling around the world, getting exhibitions abroad would be a nice goal, as I could show my work to people everywhere.

So I suppose my lifes goal is to persue art to its fullest.

  7. I like how everyone in here seems to have the common desire to be happy, thats it for me. I want a porsche, to have a wife thats down with smoking, shit like that. Maybe a scuba instructor in Hawaii?

  8. wtf a porsch?

  9. You need to learn valubles mean nothing. You could have all that and be completley miserable.

I want to jus be in peace with my self, Away from the hustlin of the city.

  10. +rep for a really interesting topic. My goal right this second? Organise to pick up £60 worth of dankness in the next couple of weeks... My goal in life is to settle down, improve the genepool a little (;)) and mainly get a good education.

What the heck? Why did someone negative rep. me for this post and only say "quit saying" ? Weak...

  11. "The World is Yours" i hope everyone knows what i mean when i say that...hint scarface...my dream but not ending like his...short-time goal:get high, complete...

  12. Yeah, notice thats why I said be happy. The porsch is just the car I'm gonna have, my parents are rich and I know the value of money--absolutely nothing, thats why I smoke all my friends down with dank bud.

  13. yeh its true valuables mean nothing, so i won't wanna live a huge ass place, but i wanna have a nice place, nice wife, kids (most likely), and all i really want is to be able to smoke the dankest of the dank for the rest of my life, and to live happily.

  14. My lifetime goal is happiness and peace throughout my family and friends. Goals are very important, because without them, you'd go nowhere.

  15. Thanks to everyone who shared their goals, and any of the kind words.

I suppose it's customary for the thread starter to answer their own question, I was really high when I wrote that so I forgot to do it before, sorry.

Currently, I am working towards my Honours B.A in Contemporary Studies, majoring in Global Studies. Successively, I will be off to NYU to obtain my Masters in Global Studies. Both of these goals are time consuming but I relish the school life.

During my studies I plan on 'experiencing' (to put it kindly) as many woman as I can, as safely as I can, which many may oppose but that is a completely different discussion. I am also continuing my bodybuilding, aiming for 6'1 215lbs @ 12%bf, almost there, a year more at the most. Tennis and snowboarding are my passions in life, it would be great to pursue a pro career in Tennis but if the opportunity doesn't present itself I won't. Snowboarding for me is the ultimate form of expression, a run is symbolic of life, each run is subject to changes and interpretation, the board sliding gently over the fresh powder amidst the beautiful scenery is as close to free as I can be. There are alot of other sports I enjoy but those are the ones I focus on.

As you may tell by my course choices I love to travel. I have been lucky enough to have gone on two exchange programs (Japan, and Montreal). I travelled alot as a kid and continued to do so as a teenager, part time jobs are a blessing, unfortunately I only have pictures and memories to indemnify my time spent working (which to me is WELL worth it). Once I have my Masters I then plan on doing missionary (non-religious) work in developing countries for a few years and then move onto working for the United Nations or the Canadian government as an ambassador. Once I am older, more experienced, and respected, I will then pursue my other political aspirations. Most people wonder why I want to go into politics since my ideologies are in opposition to most of the contemporary forms of government. Well, the answer is, because that's the only way to change it or atleast make a difference. Ultimately I will die, but I hope that the people I have impacted (directly or indirectly) will be better off for it, and will continue to affect others positively, much like a dominoe effect.

I have countless other goals but they are merely monetary or pointless commodities, no meaning to them.

I wish everyone the best, and hope you can achieve whatever you set forth to accomplish, don't let anyone stand in your way or hold you back, if they do, lay them on their back. :smoke:

  16. Im currently a student at Full Sail Real World Education, trying to make it as a Computer Animator. I hope to get a decent job so I won't have to worry about living from paycheck to paycheck.

I really just wanna live my life to the fullest, travel and see the world, meet some interesting people along the way, have some adventures, and settle down somewhere and live the rest of my life in peace.

As far as weed goes, I think the Kottonmouth Kings said it best: "I'm gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life" :smoke:
