Natural selection is a bitch. Enough of polar bears will probably make it to the ice age to continue the species. They couldn't have evolved since the last warm period. Also, ice is going to melt, there is no way to keep Earth stable. I think it's going to happen within a million years and we will lose a lot of land to the sea.
