Glass Thickness?

  1. just wondering if the thickness of the glass in a bong has any significance other than durability? because online everyone talks about how many mm thick it is like its important or something. i just bought one for the first time today and the question stemmed in the back of my head cuz ive never owned one, ive always used pipes because they're easy to hide.

i didnt even know what a perculator or diffuser was until a few months ago and ive been smoking almost 4 years lol :p

i just got a nice purple percolator bong with an ice catcher. sweet and girly for me hahaha

  2. Thin glass will heat up faster....but that only comes into play if you are taking rip after rip after rip. I personally wouldn't buy any 3.5mm bong but that is just me.

The glass thickness is basically durability, anything <= 3.5 mm is too thin in my opinion as well. 4mm and 5mm are basic sturdy thicknesses and 7mm and 9mm and for added durability! Keep in mind though, chinese made (gear included) bongs often have much thinner glass than what is advertised if it is bubbled out in parts.

Enjoy that tube, take a look at Aqua Lab Technologies (google it) and open up the world to bongs that are not available in canada *drooling*, for real though, haven't seen anything too spectacular in canada.
