glass nail and dome help

    I got a new glass nail and dome set recentley. my question is I usually see people take off the dome when heating up the nail but with this I have to leave the dome on when heating it up have you guys ever seen this? was this dome and nail set made to be like this where you leave the dome on when heating the nail up?

    Doesnt sound right to me, did it come with a glass dabber, because I dont see how you would heat the nail without shattering the dome.
