Before being blown, glass pipes are mixed with gold and/or silver to make them look all prettay. Is there any chance of that minute ammount of metal setting off an airport metal detector? Does anyone have any experiance with bringing glass-blown pipes onto a plane. I'm really doubtful that it would set an alarm but, I figured I'd ask if anyone around here has any experiances with the such.
an amount that small won't set off a metal detector. Furthermore, metal detectors don't target gold and silver, they target steel and I think aluminum. (the kind of material guns and knives are made out of)
even if it did set it off, they really cant question you about it can they? unless youre not allowed ot bring any glass on the plane just say its for smoking tobacco
Just so you all know, my friend got through on his continental U.S. flight without any problems whatsoever.
My buddy had his piece in his pocket when we were walking into a Widespread panic show and the little hand held metal detector went off on it. They didnt take it but it was funny as hell.
make sure you clean it really well before hand. I heard about a chick who was busted for possesion of RESIN, that was in her pipe.
i wouldn't put it on your carry-on though. i'd put it in a seperate opaque container and stick in in your other bagage. wouldn't wanna get your carry on searched and get caught with that thing...
i cleaned mine well when i brought this pipe made from black ornyx i got in mexico that i used to smoke some roaches with and brung it from Puerto Vallarta to Vancouver to Prince George without a hitch. If i did see a dog i had it wraped up like garbage and their was a ton of garbage cans everywhere. I also cleaned it well with a wire brush and pure alchohal to take the scent away.
