So never got plants to this point, but this is what I got. Started with 12. 6 males. 3 lost to root rot. These 3 remained. Things I know should have been better - definitely more light but also think the temps got too hot (low 85-90s). Here they are. ????
Thought by using the pots I could keep em from getting "too" large. They are already hitting the lights hung from the ceiling.
I don't see any signs of hermies, but you do have seeds. One of your males probably dropped pollen before you chopped it. You're defiantly suffering from inadequate light. The high temps make them taller sands thinner too. A small pot won't necessarily make a small plant. If you want smaller, more manageable plants you need to invest in better/more lighting. Check out Horticultural Lighting Group's Quantum Boards. They're affordable and offer some of the best efficiency in light output vs electricity input. Mars Hydro's new SP series and the new TS1000 are also decent lights for the price. Sent from my SM-N920V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
This picture shows seeds. I'm not saying it is male. I'm saying that one of the males you already chopped probably dropped pollen before you got rid of it.
On the bright side, let them mature, and you have a free redo... get you some 5-7gal fabric pots and lights like everyone has suggested. Keep your lights 18-24 inches from the canopy, and train like hell since you know that strain reaches for the stars. Otherwise, order a shorter stature indica strain and and throw those seeds outside. You'll have sequoias by end of summer lol.
Next time you might consider either training or decreasing the veg time. And like the others have said - you need better lighting big time. Good luck.
Thanks for all the input. So let's just get to the bottom line - any chance any of these produce useable bud? Or should I toss and restart? Any chance of saving these? Will they survive a transplant to a bigger pot since they are already flowering? Will it even matter if they've already been pollinated?
You've already come this far - you might as well finish it out. You won't get a lot of bud because of the poor lighting but you will get some bud to smoke.
I agree, you've already come this far. And what buds you do have look very frosty. Let the buds with seeds mature and you can try them out next run. The damage has already been done, might as well make the best of the situation. And buds should still be perfectly good smoke. Before the mid 80s no one had really heard of seedless cannabis.
Valid point. We've all gotten high from bud that was full of seeds before... So do I need to do anything different? Just keep letting em flower till whenever I want to cut em off and dry em?
You want those seeds to mature since it's already going. They will start falling out when they're ready. Try to get them as much light as possible.
