Girl Scout Cookie And LSD Mothers From Clones

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by KGrows456, Sep 19, 2021.

  1. First grow journal here!
The plants in this journal were transplanted from solo cups almost two weeks ago. There are four Girl Scout Cookies and two LSD grown from clones. They are growing in a 70% coco coir/30% perlite medium that I hydrated in dechlorinated water (Hydrologic Small Boy) and calmag and mixed myself.
The light I am using is a Vivosun equivalent to 1200w mh/hps set veg in a 4x4 tent.
The GSC seemed to be experiencing a bit of transplant shock at first but are looking better now. The LSD have been incredible finicky from day one and the leaves look like crap to prove it. They were all stunted in growth for about a week but are beginning to get acclimated and start growing again.
I am using the General Hydroponics Flora Series combined with calmag for nutrients and alternating plain water every one or two waterings. Water is pH-ed to 6.0.

  2. My LSD will grow no matter what. Rip em' up and throw down and they take root.

The ladies are coming right along. The first single picture is one of my LSD's. Those two are still not growing a quickly as I would like so I upped their nutrients as of today and I hoping that will do the trick. The GSC's are looking great! Even the runt that I thought wasn't going to make it after transplanting is looking good.

  5. Update! I doubled up on the nutrients on all 6 of the plants since my last post and they are looking excellent. Originally I was alternating nutrients vs. plain water ever other feeding but have instead opted to feed with the stronger blend of nutrients each day and once a week flushing them out with plain water. The runoff has stayed a consistent 6.5 pH which is close enough to the daily pH of 6.0 that I water them with that I am happy. There have been a few leaves here and there with some discolorations but the new leaf sets look good. I've also been tying them down a bit to keep a lower, more even canopy. I will probably start the flowering process on 4 out of the 6 plants this weekend. Originally the plan was to keep both of the LSD clones I grew as mothers, but I have decided to only keep one and flower the other. Instead I will keep a GSC as an additional mother. Pics below. Second to last shows a plant with some discolored leaves. Last pic are the the two I chose for mothers. GSC on the left and LSD on the right.

  6. Good call on upping the nutes. If your runoff is consistently higher ph than your input, it's usually a sign that they could use more food. Nutrients accumulating in your coco will push the pH down. Your plant using them will tend to raise the pH. I would verify with an EC or ppm meter, but I am guessing they are eating everything you're giving them and would take some more. Once you dial them into giving them just the right amount, your pH and ppm of your runoff should sit pretty stable. I push mine until the runoff is just below or at the level of the input. That way I know I can feed the hell out of them as many times as I want and they will not accumulate salt and I don't need to flush them. Good luck dude. Cheers

  7. Thank you, sir.

  8. Change of plans (again). I decided not to keep any of the plants as mothers and I am going to flower all six of them. Tonight they will start a 12-12 light-dark schedule. As you can see I did some pretty heavy defoliation....the first picture is before I started. I have never tried defoliation but from what I saw online it can help produce higher yields and with as leafy as these ladies are I think they definitely needed some trimming. I appreciate how big and easy to trim the leaves on the GSC's were. The LSD's were significantly more time consuming. The leaves are thinner and more dispersed and they also had a crap load of teeny tiny upshoots growing around the bottom that I had to trim off. I am excited to see how they progress over the next several weeks!
