Getting the card?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by xNeoCronus, Mar 28, 2007.

  1. Okay so I have been on Lunesta for the last couple months (yay for fucking insomnia) and I want to get the card. It really does help me to sleep and its a great recreation drug. I have been trying to figure out the process of getting one for a while now. I don't really want to just bring it up all of the sudden with my doctor with no idea what I'm talking about cause she's older and seems to be really conservative. Also whats the deal with insurance and this?:D

Thanks in advance and for the time being toke up :smoking::smoking:

  2. Your insurance doesnt cover it and your going to have to go to a specialty doctor for this type of thing. Your standard health insurance provided doctor doesnt handle this type of stuff.

If your in California try this link. Thats how I found my doctor.

  3. Okay. So I dont even have to mention this to my normal doctor? and whats the card cost per year? and what are the prices of The Club like?

  4. No your normal doctor doesnt need to know. My card was $200 for the first year and $100 for every year after that. I think some places will do them for like $125 for a first year. The club prices are absurdly over street prices. Its around $350 for a high quality ounce a lot of the times. Around $250 for some mids. You can get better prices but it will take a while to find the right club. If you get a card just grow your own.

  5. I just want to clarify that 'normal' doctors can and do handle this type of stuff. Any licensed doctor can recommend marijuana it doesnt have to be a special pot doc. Infact, it will look better if you get a rec from a doctor youve been with for multiple yrs if you ever got to court compared to a doctor you visited once then never saw again.

My advice, ask your personal doctor first, if shes against it then go to a specality doctor who works only in medical marijuana fields. The worst your personal doctor will say is 'no'. If she said yes though for some reason then it would look a lot better if you ever got in legal trouble.

  6. The problem with that is that every major medical insurance provider has instructed their doctors not to write recommendations for marijuana so they can avoid federal prosecution. So, yes they can do it , but whether or not they will is a different story.

  7. If you live in LA call 1-800-GOT-KUSH

    No joke.

  8. im slightly north of LA. I think that I am going to bring up this issue with my doc next time i go in.
