Getting Started Questions and Which Bowl to Buy?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Drewbacca, Mar 19, 2016.

  1. Hi all. I plan on getting started soon and just smoking occasionally. I plan to head to the head shop soon and pick out my first piece (probably a glass bowl) and didn't know what to look for? I assume there's large bowls and small bowls right? Also, should I buy a grinder if I'm going to be packing a bowl? Thanks!

  2. Yes.
Small bowl or bubbler (water pipe). Make sure it's thick glass. Also, make sure the bowl isnt so small that the flame is in your face; ive made that mistake before, and thats not cool lol

  3. I would get a 10 Dollar bowl as those are usually a decent size. And no you arent going to need a grinder, your fingers will do just fine.

  4. Get the piece that jumps out at you and gives you a great vibe. When you dig your piece, smoking gains a more personalized experience. My current spoon is a deep bowl with a yellow swirl so mixed with resin over time it has a badass bumblebee look to it. Had it for over a year too, which is uncommon for glass pipes as they fall and break easy.

  5. Just make sure the bowl is made from solid, thicker glass. You'll see a big difference even between $5 and $10 pipes, and you don't want a shattered pile of glass if you drop your piece (which pretty much everyone's done at one point or another). But yeah, find something cool that you like, you're going to be spending some time with this piece, and you might as well love it!

Grinders help, but it's not necessarily a first time buy. You can also get something that looks like a credit card that functions as a grinder, if you want a budget option. I finally bought a grinder a few months after I started smoking regularly, and it's an improvement, but it's not a requirement.

  6. :)Thanks everyone your answers are helpful!

  7. I would definitely get a grinder also it's a much more enjoyable smoke when your bud is ground to perfect texture.

  8. Get a grinder and a 4inch + bowl for comfortableness so the flame won't be right in front of u. Also some rolling papers for on the go
