Getting soil ready for next year

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by kyle12345, Sep 18, 2020.

  1. Well it's September 17th and most of my plants are getting ready to harvest soon. I grow outdoors and the location where its at has lousy hard as a rock clay type soil. So i had an idea to dig out troughs in the hard soil and refill it with potting soil and mulch and for the most part it works pretty darn well.

Well this winter i plan on pulling out all the potting soil and re-digging those "troughs" wider and deeper. I plan on mixing topsoil with my existing potting soil / mulch mix. I also have access to plenty of free horse manure. When i refill troughs with the soil & shit i planned on tilling it all up together and mixing in some nitrogen rich fertilizer so it will be good to go next spring for vegetative growth. Gimme your opinions and advice as far as manure, soil mixtures & fertilizers.

Be aware im gonna be doing this in the winter so the manure and fertilizers will have some time to break down so it wont burn it with nitrogen over load
