Getting ready to harvest

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by LittleRichie, Jun 16, 2019.

  1. I have an Indica pheno of Gorilla Cookies and I’m starting week 9 of flower. Been flushing for about a week and the trichromes are looking pretty milky. I have trouble getting photos of them so you’ll have to trust me on this one. My question is how long exactly should I flush and how long should she go without water before I harvest? I don’t want her going much longer I don’t want couch lock.

  2. Most people that flush usually go for two weeks. As for the second question it's all just preference really, although I would imagine the longer you have between the last watering and harvest the easier or faster it will dry.

Thank you the research I’ve done indicated I should let the soil dry for a few days before harvest so I definitely will. I’ll continue with my flush and go from there. I cut the lowest branch so I could examine the trichromes a little better. I’ve attached a pic of the bud and some trich’s but the pic isn’t very good.

  4. That branch wasnt ready. Hopefully the top is closer if you're ready to harvest. Any pics of the whole plant?

  5. No it wasn’t it was the very bottom. Wanted to get a better look st the trichromes and didn’t think I would hurt my overall harvest. The colas are mostly milky.

  7. Shut the hps off or take pics during lights out. Cant tell a thing with the yellow from the hps. Sounds like you have sometime left if they're only mostly milky but cant tell with that pic

  8. I’ll get a photo later when the light goes out. It’s still mostly green with a few yellow leaves and a few purple ones. I have a Sativa pheno from the same batch of seeds that has had it’s leaves go almost completely purple so I’m probably going to have to take her.

  9. Leaves turning purple is no reason to harvest early. Cool temps, phosphorous deficiency or just plain ol' genetics would cause that but none would be a reason to harvest early.

  10. Good to know I was under the impression once they changed color not much photosynthesis going on. She’s really not ready I’m hoping for another week or two.

  11. I purposely drop temps during the winter which causes purple leaves and buds with certain genetics. It's most defiently not a reason to harvest early. Photosynthesis still occurs. Whoever told you that was completely wrong

  13. i flush 2 weeks before harvest and that is the last watering. the plants usually use that water up in a week and they are dry for a week.

  14. Thanks I’m basically at a week and a half. I’m afraid I started a little early for one of the plants but this is definitely a learning experience

  15. i have flushed too early in haste expecting a quicker harvest. when that has happened, i have fed small amounts of ph water to keep the plant dry but surviving. thats if you were like a couple of days early. if you are way early. continuing watering with ph water as normal and stop watering 10 days before harvest.

  16. I’m at least a week to 2 weeks I’m thinking so hopefully I’m right. The Indica pheno is much closer and I think im right on time with her. The Sativa has been a problem child from day one so I expect no less at this point

  17. Flushing in general is messy, a waste of water and totally unnecessary. Simply cut off the nutrients 2 weeks before harvest and let the plant use up what's in the soil and the reserves stored in the leaves. Water like normal but just use plain water without added nutrients.

Here are pics of both plants. The tops really look close but lower down definitely isn’t ready.

Lol ok spelling nazi, your life must be pretty pathetic to spell check the internet. I got my point across just fine. You might want to check yourself before you go running that penis hole. Where's the capital letter at the beginning of your sentence?

Lol damn buddy, after looking at some of your posts on other threads you're far from being a grammatical legend. Tons of mistakes and incomplete sentences. Guess you're just like the rest of us regular Joe's.....lol
