Getting my MMAR card - Canada- Medical Marijuana

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by holy jawana, Mar 28, 2013.

  1. I need advice. this is something ive been putting off for too long. Im only 22 years old but I have some serious leg, feet and pain problems.

Health probelms : Just so people can compare where I stand on gettign a MMAR card, based on my condition. I am 220lbs 6 feet and have calfs and ankles skinnier than a 90lb woman. not an overexaggeration, i can barely walk someday. Some doctors expected wheelchair use by 18 years old. I have flat feet as well and was born with club feet. (my toes were touching my heels when I was born) I also have some serious inflamtion and arthritis form these issues.

I feel i would be a highly qualified for an MMAR card compared to people who use it for insomnia and "back problems" <<- i have back problems too because my legs throw out my hips and my hips throw out my back.

My doctors is a Jewish religous man, I cant see him believeing in medical marijuana, but im going to ask him to sign my forms. I really just dont know where to start. Id rather be growing and smoking my own pot legally.

QUESTIONS: do i just ask my doctor to fill out my forms?? I could easily get oxycontins and other opiates, but im not interested in those, yet doctors would rather give me those then pot. (I NEVER use my problem to get opiates.) I only use 10 tylenol fours a year at the most. yet doctors seem to want to give me so much more. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.:hello:

  2. any advice guys?

  3. Say you have tried traditional painkillers and they don't make life easier because of the side effects. Say you have read about the benefits of marijuana through vaping, not smoking. Don't say you wanna smoke as doctors just don't like this. Hopefully your doctor cares about your health to sign the papers so you can medicate on something that won't make you a zombie.

You don't have medical marijuana clinics where you from? I'm not clear on Mmj laws in Canada.

  4. You need to visit a doctor and have them give you the information you need about "medial marihuana". Do it.

  5. Your case is serious enough that your application should go off without a hitch.

  6. thanks guys, its just a long process, I need to find a doctor unfortunately as my doctor said hes never signed it for anyone before and doesn't believe in its medical properties.

  7. I encourage you to find several opinions before settling on one. You'll find your permit signer before too long.

    Good luck.

  8. I'm in the process of getting my card in Canada, there are compassion clubs all over Canada that help find a dr, I'm in Ontario and my dr is in BC

  9. Im in Ontario too. Do these compassion clubs actually have Md doctors who could sign my forms? Im in the process of one club its called the Greenleaf medical clinic or something like that. theyre in BC too. I want to get this in ASAP because I want to get my card and theres a repeal so if Im not accepted before October 1st 2013, I wont be able to grow my own. I unfortunately, cannot afford street price marijuana. Therefor I currently grow my own outdoors, but growing season is once a year and I have to stock up so much. Id rather do it legally, as im in a lot fo pain, and don't wanna go to jail for growing medicine

  10. I'm sorry but it had to be done

  11. Greenleaf is great and pretty quick if you have documentation of your issues. My disc degenerative disorder with pinched nerves that give me leg and foot numbness and pain was a slam dunk because of my catscans and MRI results.
It took about two weeks to get appointment and then a week for paperwork from them and then health Canada was running three weeks when I signed up back in Aug 2012.
Just get at it and happy days are here again.

  12. I'm with do no harm clinic, I've been in the process for well over a year but I'm getting my license for a mental illness which is why it's taking so long (controversial illnesses with controversial treatment takes forever)

  13. awesome dude. sorry about ur disorder. im seeing that as of October 1st no more new licence growing. I need to get in before this... hopefully I can. what did the doctor from Greenleaf ask you or talk to you about? im going to have to do mine over Skype and I think its costs like $400... :O. so once you got your appointment, you had your card just three weeks afterwards???

  14. The big thing is what catagory are you 1 or 2, if 1 and it is documented it is easy. If you are catagory two then it takes specialists reports and such based on what you mentioned as your conditions i would say you should have an easy time of it.
It is just like any doctors appointment. Except at the end if you fit the bill the question is how much Cannabis do you use to take care of your illness.
Get on it and make sure all your records are available to him quickly.
The process starts with calling Greenline then some paperwork and then your appointment. It took one to two weeks to get my paperwork from doctor then I sent it to health canada and it was three weeks till I had my license.
Make sure you have all your ducks in a row when you send papers in.
You do not want it sent back because of error that is the other thing with greenline they make sure your forms are filled out properly.
    Good Luck and happy growing.
    PS
Any body out there got any high CBD strains.
I do not want killer THC weed I need CBDs
I recently bought some Juanita La Grimosa seeds from Spain and they are supposed to be high CBD.
I kicked them into bud today so nineish weeks and I will know

  15. My doctor is the same way. I'm excited for these legal drug dealers to retire and have their Far less ignorant and therefore superior successors come along!

  16. Who are these successors you speak of.
The only new people the new MMRP rules are Nurse Practitioners.

  17. I don't know much about CBD's sorry.. Id imagine ill fall into #2. Did you call into category 1 or 2?

btw, what is the 'average' percription amount per day. I heard it was something like 5g/day. What is your current perscription

  18. I am Catagory 1 have you been to the Health Canada web site to look at the info.
If not you should it lays things out pretty well.
Or just go to Greenlines site and read about it there.
You mentioned arthritis that can be catagory one.
If you want anti inflamatory properties you want to find out about CBDs it is the most medicanal part of Cannabis and 95% of the weed in the world today has almost none in it. It was bred out to bring up THC levels. Getting high is fine for most people but I am pretty sure that is just taking your mind off problems and pain.
CBDs actually relieve symptoms not just masking them.

  19. what are some good strains for CBD's?
