Getting into.the IT field

  1. Ok so im 21 and I really wanna get into the IT field. I've worked with computers since I was a kid always loved em. I can set up a home network, troubleshoot windows, hardware, and networks problems pretty well, install OS. pretty basic shit.

Im studying.for my A+ cert to hopefully get a job then gonna go for my mcitp.

Any suggestions on things.to do or places to look for a job since I don't have any professional experience? My cousin who's in the field said just make a resume and stretch the truth and put what im.comfortable doing and put it on career builder.

  2. I use 10 different job search engines, not only carreer builder.

  3. Look for some local technology temp agencies. You can get a few short term contracts under your belt to build up some experience. If you luck out and get into a long term contract you can use what certs you acquire to try and get hired on full time. That's the path that got me where I am in my IT career.
