Getting card renewed

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by dexorated, Mar 7, 2007.

  1. To get my card renewed my doctors office told me that I had to bring in proof that I had been perscribed another form of medication for the same symptoms. I am in CA and my friend told me that when he got his renewed, he just went in, showed his ID and got a new one. So do I need the proof of seeing another doctor or not?

  2. Depends on the doctor.. If thats what they told you then that's what they want. Call them up and double check.

  3. If they said it they probably meant it. Different doctors have different procedures. Ive had my card renewed 3 or 4 times now. Every other year I bring my pot doctor a letter from my insurance company saying that I still have a chronic condition, so half the time he just writes me one based on his own observations and half the time he needs paperwork. The pot doctor just takes my blood pressure/pulse, asks me a few questions about how Ive been feeling and then writes me a new reccomendation. Hes a nice guy.

  4. I called them and they said they needed it, but they weren't really clear on what exactly I had to bring in. Can I bring in a perscription or does it need to be something else?

  5. no offense man but these are questions you should be asking them over the phone, we don't work for your doctor.

  6. i would bring anything you can get together the more paperwork the esier it is for the doc to justify your in need of cannabis.yes a prescription will work but try to bring the paperwork for the prescription not just the bottle unless thats all you got then it will have to do.

  7. watch out for those that don't require documentation and usually are a pain to get verification for (they never answer calls when a co-op verifies your rec).
