Its gunna suck really bad i can already tell. Anyone else have to get braces? Is installing them a pain in the ass?
Man, they aren't too bad...but yeah, they suck. You're gonna want to nom nom on just about anything(seems to help with the tension). It's kind of a bitch when they dry your teeth, and it's not like getting your wisdom teeth out when you know you're gonna be walking away with pain meds. How bad do your teeth look? I onlyhad mine on for 1.5 years or so.
They'll hurt like a bitch when you first get them on, only for a week or so though. After that they'll feel better, only thing that sucks when you eat you're gonna be picking chunks of food from your braces. The real fun comes when you have to wear rubberbands on your braces. I've worn braces for a year when was 15.
Your teeth will be sore for about a week after you get them on And then you'll get them tightened every other month or something like that and your teeth will hurt every time for about three days after You'll have all sorts of fun accidentally breaking the wire by eating Twizzlers or cutting your mouth on the braces themselves But in the end your teeth will look better and you'll be happy you did it (and you get to choose sweet color combos for 'em)
Yea, fucking hated breaking my braces. I eat some corn one time and somehow it popped my wire loose from my bracket. Another time, I was wearing my rubberbands and woke up and yawned, the band broke and snapped my bracket from my tooth. Watch out OP, it's annoying when it happens.
When you have to wear rubber bands put 2 on each side instead of just 1, it'll hurt a bit more but it makes the process of straightening out your bite much faster. They do suck, but I know a lot of people (guys and girls) who have a thing for braces. Some good always comes with the bad, all in all it's just temporary so just wait it out.
Just hope that your wisdom teeth are not to big, they will have to pull em out and you will bleed a lot, no pain cause they numb the shit out of your face.
for real i made out with more beezys when I had braces than I can count. They love em. play with em or somthing . but ya its all true. they freakin hurt for a week then every time you get em tightened. I had some for about 2 years and the last couple of months I had to get bands that forced my mouth shut. I couldn't freakin talk. I could only take em out to eat. who the hell invented those dam things anyway. id like to to punch em with some sandpaper knucks.
I kept messing with my top wire the first night I had them and it unhooked. I was already really sore after a few hours and getting it fixed in the morning hurt like a fucking bitch. Start thinking of a bunch of soft foods you like. You won't be able to eat anything hard for a week
I'm gonna warn you even though they say it doesn't hurt. Every time they tighten it it hurts like hell.
I had braces for 3 years, about 16-17 years ago (can't remember the exact age i got them) you are litrially going to have a throbbing Face headache. I was too young to smoke Pot, or drink, but i think if I had braces again, I'd be drinking nonstop, it was constant pain day after day (then again my teath were pretty fucked up) The best thing about my braces was my Super hot orthodontist, looking down her top while i was getting my braces installed is still a fond memory
yeah they suck man, just tough it out. But be sure to wear your retainer and get a jump on your wisdom teeth because after my wisdom teeth came in they crowded my bottom teeth. Now I need braces again and I'm 21
Yeah I have some now. The first week is the worst. When we say you can't eat hard foods, it really means any food that you need your teeth to eat. Like even fucking ramen noodles hurts. Have fun with apple sauce, pudding and broth or something. When they get tightened, it doesn't hurt for as long. Also, the wire will probably stick out the end and catch on your cheek, use wax for the first few months before your mouth doesn't give a fuck about wires any more. BAsically what happens is the cheek tissue where the braces rub gets tougher and doesn't feel them any more. But yeah, in the beginning, the wire will actually catch your cheek. Maybe not the first day or so, but once it starts to move the teeth and spaces close up the wire will poke out the end a little and it will catch. I don't think I'll be needing bands though, thankfully. Also, get a big ass box of toothpicks, they are your friend. Sometimes it's the only way. I've had to use a mechanical pencil sometimes at school when I didn't have a pick.
